May 6, 201411 yr did anyone found it interesting that Dunn was in the outfield? It is as if the sox was trying to showcase him, maybe with Dunn approval.
May 6, 201411 yr did anyone found it interesting that Dunn was in the outfield? It is as if the sox was trying to showcase him they were playing in an NL park with no DH, and two starting OF on the DL, maybe with Dunn approval.
May 6, 201411 yr The guy has a .900 OPS this year and has looked like the real Adam Dunn. This is nothing more than getting his bat in the lineup even if it does mean sacrificing a little defense.
May 6, 201411 yr BUT HE DIDNT TRY AND THROW OUT SAMARDZIJA ON A PLAY THAT HE HAD ABSOLUTE NO CHANCE ON RAAAAWWWR GAMETHREAD ANGST
May 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 6, 2014 -> 11:45 AM) BUT HE DIDNT TRY AND THROW OUT SAMARDZIJA ON A PLAY THAT HE HAD ABSOLUTE NO CHANCE ON RAAAAWWWR GAMETHREAD ANGST I was one of those meatheads but seriously, he was just super nonchalant about it. You'd think after his boneheaded base running play he'd be eager to help Q but I digress.

May 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (pettie4sox @ May 6, 2014 -> 11:50 AM) I was one of those meatheads but seriously, he was just super nonchalant about it. You'd think after his boneheaded base running play he'd be eager to help Q but I digress. He was nonchalant no doubt, but he had 0.00000000% chance of throwing out JS. We know it. He knows it. You would think that it was a pop up to short left field and he rolled it back to Alexei by the way the thread played out. Plus, what if he actually tried to throw him out, and hurt himself? That would be the kind of comical tragedy that would happen to the Sox this season, Dunn blows out his elbow in his walk year trying to throw out a runner he had no shot at.
May 6, 201411 yr Just because I'm in love with this picture, this is some of the alternative outfield excellence

Yeah, plus you can't look at Samardzija as a pitcher running. He's only a few years removed from being a potential high round NFL draft pick at WR.
May 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 6, 2014 -> 11:58 AM) Yeah, plus you can't look at Samardzija as a pitcher running. He's only a few years removed from being a potential high round NFL draft pick at WR. This is true, I didn't even think about that.
May 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (raBBit @ May 6, 2014 -> 12:00 PM) He was super nonchalant about absolutely everything. He was never going to get Samardzija but everything he did just looked so unprofessional out there. Plus he had all of those awkward stretches at 1B. You have to wonder what kind of shape this guy is in. somewhat round
May 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 6, 2014 -> 11:57 AM) Just because I'm in love with this picture, this is some of the alternative outfield excellence That slide was just really awful. His face must hurt.
May 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 6, 2014 -> 12:35 PM) That slide was just really awful. His face must hurt. his shoulder too. I remember when it happened, I was thinking "Castillo double clutched, De Aza has this easy.......why isnt De Aza in the picture yet?" lol it looked like he ran into an imaginary brick wall when he hit the ground to slide

I do have to say, on that play that he stretched for the high throw that ended up being reviewed, if that were Konerko or Abreu out there the runner would be safe.
May 6, 201411 yr Author QUOTE (raBBit @ May 6, 2014 -> 06:04 PM) He still makes 15 million dollars to play a major sport. I thought he could at least act like he ran on a treadmill a couple times this winter. Every time he got the ball it was just kind of a lackadaisical run through as if he was fielding balls in BP. oh man, that was cold ...... yet funny.

Adam Dunn seems like a very nice guy but he's been 'stealing' money from the White Sox during his pathetic tenure on the South Side. Why can't some just accept the fact that some of us fans despise what he's done in the batter's box and on the field for the White Sox? If you all like Dunn, fine. Some of us think he's been horribly bad and a symbol of our franchise's decline in the standings.

I have long since accepted the fact that a plurality, and possibly the majority of Sox fans have no clue how much value certain players actually have to the team.
