Sox pitching has worst ERA, WHIP, K/BB ratio and pitches per plate appearance in the majors

Edited by fathom

QUOTE (Brian @ May 21, 2014 -> 12:50 AM)
Spend on Lester

Shields or Masterson seems more likely.

It ain't good that your starting pitcher has 50 thrown pitches through just two innings

Makes you wonder what happened. We were good last year-the bright spot if you will in an otherwise dismal season

How has Gillaspie not homered yet?

Need another 2 out hit Tank.

Why would anyone want to pay Masterson what you have to pay him? In seasons he has stsrted at least 10 games he has had an ERA under 4.50 only 2 times.

Seems like his hits are all line drives, which is ok, but that must be his approach at this time.

Pass on Masterson his fastball is down 3 mph from last year. He does not look the same this year at all.

For starters, Danks being a disaster since returning from injury hasn't helped. The pitching was solid last season...just about league average in the AL.

Two starters are needed for next year. I think it would be silly to count on anything from the farm.

Agreed., unfortunately they just haven't come close to developing any starting pitching the last two years.

Dunn always hustles down the line.

Hawk just said a high school pitcher is the worst draft choice in baseball.....UGH

Glad he is not involved in Sox pick at 3.

He and Stone have rather consistently expressed that point of view.

Stone agreed, and usually they might as well be the publicist for the franchise.

Yet Hawk loves the toolsy picked players and how is that working out Hawk? Sox cannot even call up a decent OF we have to get scraps off waivers.

When Hawk was the GM he damn near traded for Andre Dawson. It was so close to happening Dawson took BP with a Sox cap on.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 20, 2014 -> 05:26 PM)
That is exactly what he did. Bad stride pattern.

He peeked back to look at the throw from Aoki . When he saw Aoki lobbed it in he went to 3rd. Very hard to keep your stride looking back over your shoulder then pick uo 2nd base which he was very close to.

He just said he doesn't care for drafting the "best athlete available", i.e. the toolsy player.

Pretty much disagree with everything Hawk/Stone just said over the last 10 minutes, which probably means they're right.

In the past he has loved the toolsy picks after watching Sox with nothing to show for it he finally changed his tune.
