June 11, 201411 yr QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 11, 2014 -> 12:35 PM) Sierras average is higher than Konerkos OBP with us. Not that he's any good, he's terrible. But at least there some sort of semblance of a spot for him. If you want Danks to take his spot that's fine too. Sierra overall has been far worse than Paulie and would is hitting .173 for the White Sox except for his 4-4 game against the Cubs. He is pretty brutal. Very talented, but brutal. Think of how bad he has been. Except for that one game, Sierra is hitting .132 for the season with 4 walks in 87 PA. Edited June 11, 201411 yr by Dick Allen
June 11, 201411 yr I agree he sucks. I'm willing to throw out what he did with Toronto. Not that he's done well for us either.
June 11, 201411 yr Another interesting thing given their respected torrid/horrendous hitting starts, Dayan Viciedo is at -0.1 fWAR and De Aza -0.2. (baseball reference has Viciedo at -0.4 and De Aza at -0.2 but Fangraphs is better)
June 11, 201411 yr Sierra is waiver-wire filler. Konerko isn't helping on the field, but he also isn't causing us to lose games. If you want a defensive replacement, DFA Sierra and his 13 wRC+ and bring up Danks.
June 11, 201411 yr QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 11, 2014 -> 11:50 AM) You should add ADA's fangraphs page to your bookmarks. It would probably save you a lot of time
June 11, 201411 yr Ugh. This thread really makes me miss Avi Garcia even more. De Aza is likely getting more playing time to enhance his value. Everyone knows he is not part of the future core, but it would be nice to get something for him.
June 11, 201411 yr Author The White Sox OF is 7th at getting to deeply hit fly balls. https://twitter.com/msimonespn/status/47679...4656384/photo/1
