August 2, 201411 yr Hall of Famer "The Big Hurt" Frank Thomas made his major league debut against the then American League's Milwaukee Brewers. The starting pitcher for the Brewers was Teddy Higuera. Thomas went 0-4 with an RBI fielders choice that scored Ivan Calderon with the game winning run.
August 2, 201411 yr I was at that game. Doubleheader. Also the debut of Alex Fernandez. In the second game, Frank hit a screaming liner that never got more than 10 feet off the ground and hit the wall in right for a triple. Never looked back after that.
