Where are the Sox at now with payroll?

Featured Replies

I think after these last two movessels the Sox are maxed out. Aren't they around $90 mill? I think Vicredo and Danks neeneed to go beforecasting major can happen. Unless Jerry decides to break the bank.

Currently the Sox are contenders in the Central but by no means the favorites. Rodon isn't proven and Danks was terrible last year.

danks was not terrible. 180+ innings and what was his record?

No I dont think they are maxed out yet.

Trading Danks and/or Viciedo would help free up some money as well.

This puts the White Sox at just over $100 million by my count.

Does that include arb/pre-arb guys?

Yes. With commitments we should be over $95 mil with a couple million worth of potential plus or minus because we don't know exactly what the arb guys will get when they settle the deals and I didn't check the yearly breakdown on Robertson. Then ~11ish pre arb guys brings them up to just over $100 million.

I bet they're not maxed out, people have been under stating the amount of money they've have to spend all offseason imo. I bet they're also counting on this offseason buzz to sell some tickets.

Danks was terrible.

Approximately $100M now. Kenny just stated that they have "a little space", but suggested they will get creative with additional moves.

Gimme Rasmus and Bonifacio and I'll be thrilled.
