Garcia scratched with sore knee

Featured Replies

Garcia pulled after hitting in the top of the 2nd on Monday.

This is again starting to seem like one of those "should have sat down for 2-3 days when the first injury happened, did not, keeps hurting it, and winds up on the DL" games.

It's quite puzzling. Need to do what's best for him and that's clearly to get some rest.

I'd say it was puzzling except I've seen this script before. Just about 1 year ago, in fact.

Not to mention the unavoidable "SkyDome turf" exacerbating the issue, surely.

He shouldn't play again until Thursday or Friday...if then. We're reaching the point where we have to look at the long-term of 2016 more than the short-term of 2015, and we don't have any capable replacements (Shuck/Thompson) anyway, so making any type of trade would be idiotic. It is what it is.

If he needs a scope or procedure, then by gosh, put him on the shelf for a while. As much as it sucks that he gets hurt a lot, you have to medically take care of problems when they occur. Fix him even if it means a scope.

Avi Garcia (right knee) won't play tonight or Wednesday. 'Get him off the turf and give him a few days of not doing anything here,' RV said.

Sounds like smart plan. Maybe DH him one game on Thursday, and hope he's good to go on Friday.
