Rookie League Teams

Featured Replies

Rookie League teams should be starting in a couple of weeks. Just wondering who is shaping up to be on these rosters. Has anyone heard anything on the catcher(Alfaro) we signed out of Colombia last summer? He is on the White Sox Top Prospect list. Then there is Micker Adolfo, too.

AZ Sox in a week.

Colombia.

All your recent draftees will make up these rosters except for Fulmer once he is signed I would imagine. Leftovers from last year I would assume are, Micker Adolfo (Arizona), Jake Jarvis (Arizona), Matt Ball (GF), C Zach Fischer (GF), Chris Freudenberg (GF), OF Antonio Rodriguez (Arizona), Victor Done (Arizona).

Hope that helps.

Alfaro is probably another year away from being stateside, at least.

Is Luis Castillo schedule to play for the AZL team. I noticed he wasn't even playing for the DSL team.

I believe that Nunez, Alfaro and maybe Mercedes will be with the AZL team, if not they'll be on the DSL roster shortly. There was a conference call earlier in the year and Bell and Laumann spoke very highly of them, and remember Micker went straight to the AZL.

AZL roster has been updated. Alfaro, Nunez and Mercedes all on there as well as Yosmer Solorzano. Andres Sanchez is with Great Falls too.

A little surprising that they're going to be so aggressive will all these guys. I though Micker was a one-off last year as he already spoke English, but evidently not.

Blake Hickman listed at catcher is odd, though likely just a mistake, and they also have him on the 60-day DL. Alfaro's ago also appears to be incorrect as it was previously reported as 1997, not 1995.

So 5 of 8 six figure signings from the 2014 period are now in the U.S., along with 2 of 3 from 2013 & 4 of 6 from 2012. It's crazy to think we'll finally have an influx of international talent in the system. Let's hope a few of these guys turn out to be more than filler.

FYI,

Futuresox will have a Great Falls preview up later today. I will link it when it is complete.

Looks like Castillo is on the AZL roster. This will be a fun team to keep an eye on this year. The system needs a few unexpected bright spots to emerge with the downturn it is having this year.
