I want people to remember that the next time they say Robin should have just "trusted his veteran" on that Alexei debacle in Detroit. Players are often wrong. But this isn't rickey henderson, he keeps failing at this on a team that isn't good offensively. I'm talking specifically about people using "because the player said he should challenge" as a reason he should challenge. It should never be a reason, or only ever a minor consideration at most. That's why they have guys specifically looking at replays. Generally, 99.99% of the time, a runner knows if he is out or safe on the throw to 1B, anyone who ever complains when they are called out on a groundball in the infield and replay confirms it, was just putting on a show.
