Should the White Sox and Rockies talk trade?

the one thing about laroche is Col already stated that they also want to shed salary.

if posters still hoping to move laroche, then it is Pitts with Pedro Álvarez coming the other way.

Swapping out LaRoche for Reyes saves them a lot of salary. Like $36M over the next two seasons.

well you are thinking outside the box on this one and it is interesting.

well the main reason why Roc will do it is b/c of Reyes arrest and spousal abuse over the weekend. second, i really don't see them taking on laroche contract, even if it is for one yr.

next, with the sox ownership, i highly doubt that the sox would be interested in the trade b/c of the spousal abuse..

targetting wife beaters is the new market inefficiency.

while that is a great way of thinking about it, i would rather make it more simpler. the owners will not want to take the pr hit by trading for him.

Reyes was the worst defensive shortstop other than Marcus Semien last year. He hit as well as Jimmy Rollins, a superior defender who is a free agent and can be had for a lot less than $22 million a year. It would be crazy to trade for Reyes and won't happen.

And it costs the Sox alot of salary. If the Sox are going to spend their limited funds, it won't be on Reyes. The Sox would be fools to take on Reyes and his salary.

There is a great article on trading Cargo in Purplerow.com

Unfortunately, I can't get the link to bring it here. Maybe one of you young guys can do it.

Thats the negative you take by adding Blackmon.

Reyes salary and recent domestic abuse nonsense is not worth a 29 year old outfielder. That's a really bad deal for the Sox.

i don't if it is me, but the sox does not come out too great.

What you don't want to trade Fulmer for Cargo and his 2.1 WAR, bad defense, 2 years of control and 17.5M annual salary?

What you don't want to trade Fulmer for Cargo and his 2.1 WAR, bad defense, 2 years of control and 17.5M annual salary?

i agree.

don't get me wrong, i do not want cargo before and i still don't want him now.

With all Rockies hitters, you have to look at their home/away splits.

Charlie Blackmon for his career

home: .334/.386/.501/ .887

away: .241/.283/.370/.653

Coors Field (or Denver, really) is kind of a ridiculous place for baseball to be played. Michael Cuddyer won an NL batting title there in 2013. Michael Cuddyer.

D.J. LeMahieu away from Coors field: .612 OPS for his career

Corey Dickerson career home/away splits

Coors Field: 1.095 OPS

Away: .695 OPS

Coors Field is a silly field.

It is. Can you check Carlos Gonzalez's and Matt Holliday's numbers during the same time? I am guessing that Gonzalez is at around .775 for his career, while Holliday is at .825 for his career. I would prefer the Sox stay away from the aforementioned two, but Gonzalez is a guy I like, especially if they can include Avisail.

Losing Daniel Hudson was a devastating blow to the White Sox. One in which they are still trying to recover. Once again, hero worshipping probably cost the White Sox 2 or 3 playoff appearances.

I've missed you. More than anyone else.

And how did he do in 2012 as a member of the Rockies?

QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 17, 2015 -> 10:41 AM)

White Sox: This is a tough team to read. They have outfielders, but they're not very good. I personally think they should be committing more to a rebuild (especially with where the Royals, Indians, and Twins appear to be headed in their success cycles), but if they really decide to go for broke in 2016, they also could be a perfect dark horse candidate to do something stupid and sell their soul for Cargo. While not extremely deep, their system does have some interesting names, including the high upside arm of Carson Fulmer.
