He still was great, and the declines were slight, but Pujols was trending down his last 3 years in St. Louis. What is that contract going to look like in a couple of years when he needs a walker with the tennis balls to get up to home plate?

Anytime you can give a 32 year old a 10 year contract, you do it.

Probably didn't" t think they would regret it when he was 33. Pujols, Hamilton...I,could,see,where Moreno, says probably out, although he did steal Torii Hunter from the White Sox and he worked out fine.

Vernon Wells and Gary Mathews JR, not so much...

They have been stung often and hard. It's ironic the "evil" Disney Empire was the one who ended up with the World Series trophy, and big spenders like Moreno and Illitch have ended up with egg on their faces (although obviously the Tigers are still a much healthier organization than they were when Buddy Bell was manager and had the worst record in the AL).

Lots of tweets that Angels won't go after big outfielder as it would push them over luxury tax threshold

Tough position for the Angels. They are projected to a have a 166M payroll in '16 that doesn't include Nava's salary so round up to 168M. That leaves them with 21M to work with. I wonder if they would be interested in Melky. :P
