Source: A's deal with Henderson Alvarez should be done soon. Going to be for one year, $4M+, big incentives. @jonheymancbs had them close.

Bummer

Was hoping we'd sign him. Damn

Beane will rebuild his value and move him.

Ugh I would have loved that deal.

Same. He could make 5.8 if he hits all his incentives.

I'm with you guys. I really liked the idea of trying to sign Alvarez. Oh well, what can ya do...

The exact type of deal I was expounding the Sox should make to 2K yesterday.

Anything he provides this year is gravy. They will have control of him for another year or so with his arb status.

I wonder if Sox were in on him at all. I'm guessing lots were interested but he may have wanted a place where he saw the rotation fit.

If Danks/ EJ scared him off, he must not be too healthy or confident in his ability to bounce back.
