Top White Sox Prospects - Players 16-30

Featured Replies

It's that time of year - we are releasing our preseason Top 30 White Sox Prospects list.

As has become the tradition, we release the back half of the list first... then release the full list plus a list of just-missed names a day or two later.

The 16-30 "teaser" article is now up, with detailed capsules of each of those 15 prospects. You can click on their name to go to the prospect profile for more details.

What do you think? Anyone not there you thought should be? Who do you think makes up the T15?

Surprised by Stephens and Peter not making the T15. Really like Feliz and Zavala. Hope to see them have some helium on this list come midseason.

Obviously Davidson needs a big season or he's probably off of the list by mid year.

Catching depth at the lower levels isnt looking too bad, hopefully one of those guys can pan out as a regular. I really hope Zavala ends up being something.

There are a couple guys that will be left off the Top 30 that I didn't expect to be. I'll predict the Top 15 as such:

1. Tim Anderson SS

2. Carson Fulmer RHP

3. Spencer Adams RHP

4. Trey Michalczewski 3B

5. Tyler Danish RHP

6. Jordan Guerrero LHP

7. Micker Adolfo OF

8. Jacob May CF

9. Adam Engel CF

10. Courtney Hawkins OF

11. Corey Zangari 1B

12. Chris Beck RHP

13. Amado Nunez SS

14. Brandon Brennan RHP

15. Brian Clark LHP

That leaves off guys like: Jhoandro Alfaro, Johan Cruz, Robinson Leyer, Michael Ynoa, Andre Wheeler, Blake Hickman, and Keon Barnum.

I think that's a pretty solid prediction. I still don't understand what everyone sees in Michalczewski, though. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve to be on the list, but I think he is overrated by most on this board.

I'll give you a hint. Two of your Top 15 aren't on our list. You'll see who tomorrow.

My guess is Nunez and Brennan are those two.

I'm guessing one of the two guys he didn't mention was Alvarez.

Yeah probably. I'm higher on Brennan probably. They protected him and if he moves to relief he's going to come quickly.

And I am almost positive that the other missing from your list is Cruz. He had a pretty good year for a 19 year old first year in the states.

He's young for his league every season, pretty elite walk rate at every stop, sounds like his defense will atleast be league average, the biggest question now is how will the power develop. I think he can be an every day regular at the major league level and that's a pretty big coup for a 6th round pick.

He was an overslot pick, got 3rd round money. Defense is a question with him - he's a bit stiff and has a hitch in his throws. Power development also a question, as is the development of the hit tool generally. There's a lot to like, but he does need more polish.

He's got 2 years to iron that stuff out, no real rush

Four players (Solorzano, Feliz, Perez, and Rodriguez) on this list were J2 signings under Marco Paddy. Keep an eye on those guys, they were tough to rank but a lot more potential than usually shows up on the bottom-half of these rankings.
