I am head golf coach for a high school here in San Antonio. I have also coached cross country, soccer, baseball, basketball, and football.

I gotta write down all the various things I yell at the kids during games/practices.

"swing the bat level like you're sweeping an imaginary floor"

"I said swing PARALLEL to the ground not a U shape"

"Bring your arm back when you throw"

"CATCH WITH 2 HANDS WHY DO I KEEP TELLING YOU THIS"

"what was that, either swing or don't swing"

"get the bat all the way back"

"point your glove where you're throwing and your toes what you're throwing at"

"No. No you can't pitch please stop asking"

lol I used to be harder on him than other kids but I eased up on him this year. If he was better than the other kids I WOULD be harder on him, though.

When kids who aren't ready to play 2B or SS ask me to play there I say "did you notice my son isn't playing there?"

"there are so many great things happening in that swing" (after a worm burner than went straight

"See it feel it trust it"

"Stay in your rhythm"

"You got this"

"Golf is all about playing your misses"

"I hope hitting that shot felt as good to you as watching it was for me"

I think that's normal. My dad used to kill me when he was my basketball coach growing up but was super nice to all the other kids.

Anywho, I currently teach some basketball classes to 5 and 6 years olds. I've taught bball, tball, flag football and soccer to younger kids before and martial arts classes to some older kids as well. And I've actually coached basketball leagues too.

Currently, I am a Sophomore assistant baseball coach at the high school I went to. Just got done with my 3rd year. Also head coach the incoming sophomores summer team through the high school, this will be my 3rd year doing that as well.

Current record combining all seasons: 95-32

I coach Sophomore Football at Lockport and Junior High Track and Field at the school where I teach

For the high school coaches, what else do you teach? I have this year 3 sections of English 4 AP and 2 sections of English 3 and of course 1 section of Golf. I missed 55 days this past year at golf tournaments and golf related events. It's tough doing both. But for my AP students it is a great preview of college courses where you see the teacher only a couple times per week.
