Im not speaking to yesterday's game specifically. Im saying in general stop messing with his head, give him some consistency, and let the rest of the bullpen know their regular expectations. Be done with the game to game approach. Its not working.

Even with stronger arms in the pen this year they still havent "defined" roles. I feel like there was an effort early in the year with Dominguez but when that failed they just went back to the matchup game. No more bullshit. Make Taylor the closer, Brazoban can be a nice 8th inning guy with Hicks going the 7th and lefties to be used as needed. No more 40 pitch Taylor outings or adventures in the 6th. There are so many tools in that pen being improperly utilized and thats the most frustrating part.

This team went on cruise control when they had a 4-0 lead and never changed gears. Step on them with one or two more and they had it. Hudson blew but with soft contact. Taylor is spent now in another loss. Was at the game and quite frankly, watching Burkes pitch count and how he was cruising, I wouldve given him the 8th. Have we had any starter pitch 8 this year? It took them 23 years to recognize Ray Durham. I spoke with Ray after that and he was very aware of that time gap. I agree with most. Much too soon. We're trying to move past that era. I honestly see people at the ballpark with Kopech or Moncada jerseys and I get irrationally angry lol. I can name a lot of people from this organization that deserve a night ahead of his. They simply saw the sellout from the Ozzie game and saw another chance for some more green, thats all this is.
