Yeah, again, Betts has said he wants to go to FA. He's going to be traded this Winter. Would be a decent haul for a really bad farm but only a 1 year rental.

Like 22 of his 25 are center to opposite field. He needs to pull the ball more and continue to elevate.

The Sox have negative 3.4 bWAR in RF and negative 2.5 bWAR at DH right now. 2 WAR players at either position is a 10 win increase based on this year. That is how bad they have been at those positions.

I wouldn't hate getting Castellanos but he's probably my 3rd choice after Ozuna and Puig. JDM is not a real RF.

I had them at 72 before the season in that thread so I'll stay with that.

It's really fun to play MLB The Show 2020 with some of these guys but in all seriousness you take JDM if you can get him.

He's going to get more than a 1 year deal. I don't want him more than 2 with a club option but White Sox love making decisions on emotion. If this JDM thing could be real who knows.

I just don't put stock into in season soundbites especially when your team is starting to run away with the division. StL is a great franchise but are also somewhat "risk averse". He is also the best OF available this off season, which means he's going to get paid.

I don't think they are that dumb. Now the contrarian in me will tell you RF at Comiskey is much easier to play than at Fenway and Comerica. Also Luis Robert. Would be a lottt of thunder in that lineup.

I'd rather have Vaughn and one of the best pure hitters in baseball. Do I think this FO will do that though? Nope. But I really hope they don't lock up Abreu before they have explored other avenues.

Also reminder that the Mets pitchers had a higher wrc than our dh this year as of a few weeks ago. This is a position that needs money thrown at it. The Sox have to explore this if he becomes available.

You can rotate JDM from DH to right and Collins from C, DH, 1B. Also if you can get JDM who really cares about Collins getting less ABs. Or just don't resign Abreu and make Collins your primary 1B. Either way he isn't going to cost all that much, 22-24 AAV for his production on a 4 year deal sounds right. Still plenty of money to get pitching and a true RF as well.

He is hurt way too often and owed too much money. If he didn't miss entire seasons at a time, sure.

Yeah you do that all day long. He's a FA after next year so that would mean we have -5 or so WAR in RF again if you don't get a stop gap. Then we have to hope we are the highest bidder and he wants to play here with the 300 million he was offered.
