JDM is an Elite hitter. We could have both Abreu and JDM since JDM is primarily DH. He is a hitting and OBP machine.

Dave Dombrowski would be an upgrade over what we have now. The guy knows how to put out a winning club and it's not like we have a farm system he could destroy. After Vaughn/Kopech* are up it gets pretty barren in terms of high ceiling guys.

Dane Dunning is looking like trade bait. I don't see how the front office would be content going into 2020 without getting at least 1 big SP addition. If they are going to think Strasburg and Cole are out of their price range there isn't much else I'd want. Wheeler is going to have a draft pick attached to him, Bum I wouldn't want more than 2 years, then it's the Alex Woods and Jake Odorizzi's who would hardly be something to get excited about. I don't think we have enough prospect ammo to pluck away a significant starter in a trade but who knows. I'd prefer to spend a zillion dollars on Cole and try to trade for a RF since there isn't a great fit for this team out there. Ozuna would be the only guy I'd actually want. I wouldn't hate Puig but he's such a cancer and just kind of meh. We really need a slugging LH bat to play in Right and there isn't one unfortunately.

Them adding a 2 WAR RF and 2 WAR DH gives them about 10 more wins from this season. They are not that far away at all. They need to hit on some FAs and spend money over the next 2 years.

No, it's not legal at all and against IHSA rules but they definitely do it. I only went to Rita my Freshman year. I got recruited and my tuition payed for for football so I started on the A team. Unfortunately they did the same type of "recruitment" for baseball so I didn't get playing time my freshman year over the kids that were getting money even though I was better so I transferred out. I ended up being on Varsity for baseball and All-Conference my Soph year after I left lol. It's pretty silly.

I'd say Gio is having one of the best performances in a storied franchise history but thats not the case. Also Mike Minor and Lance Lynn being better than Gio and to a greater extent, Verlander, shows that needs to be adjusted very soon in terms of WAR.
