I saw him in the Northwoods a couple times. It's a little unorthodox with the open stance, high hands and high back elbow but he makes it work. He's quick to the ball and make a lot of hard contact. I wouldn't be upset if they take him at 1-3. I think there are guys with higher ceilings but Stott has a nice combination of floor and ceiling.

LHP Nick Lodolo (TCU) is a guy the industry has been waiting on to breakout. He has everything you look for in a pitcher. Frame, athleticism, arm action, delivery and stuff but for whatever reason he hasn't been able to put it all together. Lefties take a little longer to develop and If he does he could be a top of the rotation guy. Just not sure you want to take that risk at 1-3.

I also question how much you can improve a 27 yr olds hip mobility to improve a "skill" that is incredibly difficult to quantify.

Preller is a fantastic talent evaluator. The guy knows a good baseball player when he sees one. Hahn is just a smart guy with a lot of advanced degrees who knows absolutely nothing about how to put a baseball team together. He should have stayed in a courtroom because he's overmatched in a baseball arena.

Good talk Russ

It's a very difficult job. Maaaaaaaaaaybe lighten up a little......

Hey KLaw, Remember that time 10 years ago you misevaluated an unconventional college lefties slider!?! Yea!!! Suck on that, KLaw!!! You seem fun.

Hey KLaw, remember that time 10 years ago you and the entire industry were wrong about one of the most unconventional pitchers in baseball history?!? Yea! Suck on that, KLaw!!!!!

F. He's playing fantasy baseball and is completely and utterly overmatched.

Blah blah fuckin lawyer talk bullshit. Rick, your record as GM is 419-553 (.431). You've never finished higher than 4th in the absolute worst division in baseball. You should to be fired.

Who is available in 2020? Looking ahead to the future

Don't do a damn thing. Play out Hahn's 7th straight losing season as GM and hope to god the couple players worth developing actually develop. Then hope they fall ass backwards into an impact acquisition next off season. -
Did the Whitesox make a mistake not forcing a decision?
Harold's Leg Lift replied to wrathofhahn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Absolutely they did. If these nitwits make this offer a month and a half ago before the Padres were interested Machado is a White Sox. -
Machado signs with Padres 10/300

So if they made this offer a month and a half ago before the Padres got involved Manny Machado is a White Sox. Idiots -

Idiots. I'm done with this fuckin team. -
Beer really struggled in the summers using a wood bat. Teams are putting a much bigger emphasis on summer leagues so that along with being a non athlete really hurt him.

I hope to god they're not eliminating high schoolers again. If Jr is there he's the guy. Greene and Abrams should be under serious consideration too. It's long past time to stop taking the safe guy and take the guy with the highest ceiling who has a chance to make the biggest impact.

I'm not in on Langeliers. I don't think he'll hit enough and I have concerns about his durability behind the plate.

Rutschman with another bomb today. Dude's an absolute monster.

Lodolo was ok for the first time out. Stinson was pretty good. It would be real nice if one or both of those big lefties step up and make themselves possibilities at #3.

Being able to throw the ball past college hitters doesn't mean you have good command. -

Kiley. That dude's clueless. I'm not ready to get on board for the 6'0" right hander. There will always be freaks in baseball. Grienke, Stroman, Lincecum but I wouldn't want to be in the business of hoping for a freak. If I'm gonna miss on a guy I'm gonna miss big. -
Fulmer: An awesome deep dive on his driveline winter

It's a thing for a lot of teams. Amateur scouting is about projection. It's not about what they are now it's about what they're going to be. Fulmer had a bad frame, bad delivery and bad command. I have no idea how they thought he was going to get better. Buehler had projection. He had ceiling. He wasn't close to being a finished product. Fulmer went backwards and Buehler went thru the roof. That's projection scouting. -

Yep. Short sighted. -

Walker Buehler was on Fulmer's damn team. I don't know how they can be so short sighted to think Fulmer would end up being the better option.
