  1. Good to know... I eliminated Castellanos from all probability once he switched to Boras. Ozuna used to be represented by Boras but he switched to MDR Sports Management, a Puerto Rican-headquartered agency, last spring... https://www.12up.com/posts/2020-free-agent-marcell-ozuna-officially-adds-new-representative-after-ditching-scott-boras-01dasgp92t30 ... so it may be no surprise that some random Dominican sports reporter scooped the great Bruce Levine. By the way, I forgot to add that both Levine and Spiegel still thought that Ozuna was represented by Boras on their radio show this morning. These clowns don’t even know how to perform simple Google searches before spouting their BS “sports knowledge.”
  2. I will be impressed if Moreno outbids the evil empire. This seems to have been their target even before the playoffs ended. I guess whoever loses can alway sign Strasburg... It must be nice to shit money...
  3. Indeed, this is what I heard. He completely refuted the report this morning on his crappy radio show and I hope he looks like a fool on Monday, just because he’s an annoying turd with no talent.
  4. Dude, no offense to your humor but poop jokes got old when Kriss Kross was topping the hip hop charts... and I’m being fucking generous. Get some new material, duder...
  5. Agreed. There is no incentive for Ozuna to sign now for a paltry 3/50 when he is arguably the second best free agent outfielder available and Castellanos has yet to sign. He’s 29 years old. He’s going for the longest term contract he can get because he wouldn’t get much as a 32/33 year old on the open market if he signed an absolutely nonsensical 3 year deal as suggested by some posters here. People need to start using logic and common sense. It’s embarrassing... I just want to say that Balta gets some heat for his opinions but it seems like he is one of the few posters around here that has a realistic perspective on free agency and contracts. Everyone else expects to sign second tier players for nothing. And how did this idea ever enter Sox fans minds considering the Sox front office is usually dumpster diving for has-been‘s and never were’s in the past ten years? I have no idea... For the first time in forever, the Sox are actually going after tier A and B free agents and posters expect them to sign these guys for chump change. It’s ridiculous. With Ozuna and a few more good signings, I will be ready to bow down and blow ChicagoWhiteSox for the quote that I retained from him last summer in my signature... ChicagoWhiteSox —> 🍆💦😵 <— Moan4Yoan
  6. I’m going 5 / $80 due to the draft pick loss. I will go 5 / $90-$100 on Castellanos.
  7. Seriously, I want Levine to own this on Monday and look like a complete moron for having less sources than some no name Dominican reporter after checking with his own sources and saying it was a false report.
  8. Unfortunately, we probably won’t be able to have an official Sox lineup for MLB The Show video game. I’m guessing it’s going to be a rotation of primarily Grandal, McCann, Collins, and Abreu. Eloy too, from time to time.
  9. Who are the best lefty RF options? Joc probably? He would cost talent just for one year of his services. After Joc, Kole Calhoun? He is trash. I hate the idea of adding a left-handed bat just to add a lefty bat to the lineup. Give me the best hitter, regardless of handedness. Castellanos is probably the better hitter but a quick check on Castellanos’s and Ozuna’s agents will tell you who the Sox are more likely to sign.
  10. I see no way that Ozuna is bad enough on defense that Eloy would ever play RF over him. Eloy is terrible in LF and also has a noodle arm. He is LF at best, DH at worst.
  11. It was never going to happen but when even the Sox MLB.com beat reporter Scott Merkin is reporting that the Sox will be passing on Cole and Strasburg, it really isn’t happening.
  12. If Ozuna is signed, we will at least have Engel as a late inning defensive sub.
  13. I think Wheeler’s agent came back to the Sox with a contract number that would sway them from signing with the Phillies, but the Sox chose to pass on it because it was above their comfort zone for Wheeler.
  14. According to Frank Castillo’s tweet, it sounds like Ozuna is actually signing tomorrow (Sunday) but the signing will be officially announced on Monday. Seems almost too specific to be a lie but there has been enough ridiculous hot stove tweets the past couple years to doubt anyone and everyone. At least we don’t have to wait very long to find out if it is true or BS.
  15. Check out Frank Castillo’s tweet at the link below and how it translates... https://mobile.twitter.com/FrankCastillo22/status/1203348982551973889
  16. I hope he is right so I don’t have to watch a mediocre player named Kole Calhoun in right field.
  17. The fact that this Dominican reporter Frank Castillo called out a date for the signing (Monday) makes me actually buy it. Most of these so-called “insiders” throw out a prediction with no timetable and when it doesn’t happen, they claim the team “pivoted” to another target instead. 🙄😂
  18. Joc is only under contract for one year. Worry about it after the season. But yes, unless Joc came cheaply, I wouldn’t be interested.
  19. I only see the Sox obtaining one outfielder this offseason but an outfield of Ozuna / Robert / Joc with Eloy at DH sure would be nice. But the Sox seem insistent on Eloy learning LF.
  20. Asshole is breaking the law. The CPD should show up to GRate on March 26th and issue him a fine right at first base.
  21. Ozuna did win a gold glove in 2017. Maybe he is bad now though. Either way, he and Castellanos are the best two options to fill RF without giving up a lot of talent. I won’t complain if the Sox nab him. If you can’t sign one of the top two starters, sign the top catcher and one of the top two outfielders available. I am Hahn’s biggest critic but some of you guys must be forgetting the many prior years of depressing hot stove in which our big acquisitions were Mat Latos and Jimmy Rollins. 😂
  22. Eh, sure he’s the better player but we would only have him for two years and he would cost a nutload in talent. He’s also two years older than Ozuna. I’d rather just give up the draft pick and money for Ozuna.
  23. I see Walker and Basabe in the majors as fringe starters. I honestly don’t see the other two even making the majors and would use them as trade bait if they even have any value remaining.
  24. I wouldn’t complain but the Sox have more than enough bats to cycle through DH. But if they sign Ozuna, I doubt they add Joc.
