Ryu to Jays - 4 yr/80 mil
Is there any reason to be excited about Keuchel over Ryu or vice versa? ?

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Correct. He has an opt-out after the 2020 season with no buyout. He had an opt-out clause after last season but chose to stay.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
It has to be Price + Benintendi or else it makes no sense. Price + JD Martinez would be $55.75 million added to the payroll.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
David Price is aging but one could argue he’s still a better pitcher than Wheeler. The $32 million per year on the payroll isn’t exactly ideal but throwing in a low cost 25 year old lefty outfielder (Benintendi) and basically obtaining both a SP and RF for less than Wheeler’s total contract value seems good to me.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
I believe he is referring to Machado last offseason and Grandal and Wheeler this offseason.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Exactly, to me that trade is ideal. Price is owed $96 million over the next 3 years and Benintendi is still arbitration-eligible. Two holes filled for less than what we were going to give Wheeler alone seems like a wise use of resources to me.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
To obtain what we need (SP and RF) for a minimal cost in talent, considering the free agent options aren’t ideal and will also require bad contracts. I’d take on Price’s bad contract if it means we also acquire a 25 year old lefty hitting outfielder.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
A lot when one team is willing to pay the going rate for top free agents and another apparently is not.

If it’s Price + JDM over Price + Benintendi, see you later.

Trade Market for Starting Pitchers...
That would be puke-inducing.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Considering the Sox success rate with their main targets, if you truly believe this, you may as well save the post so you can copy and paste it into next offseason’s hot stove discussions. We all understand the BS GM talk but it’s still time to put up or shut up. Hahn has been talking about this offseason for awhile.

Trade Market for Starting Pitchers...
Collins, Stiever, and Walker? We don’t have too much of value that can be given up.

Trade Market for Starting Pitchers...
Neither did I. I was shocked when I looked him up.

Trade Market for Starting Pitchers...
Blackmon still rakes but I am not very excited about adding a soon-to-be 34 year old outfielder. I like the idea of adding Benintendi much more and extending him.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
We can’t keep playing this game. It never comes to fruition.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Adding Jordan Lyles would be pretty close to punting. He’s bad.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
If you can get Benintendi and Price by just taking on salary and giving up minimal prospects, if any, it’s a no brainer. Price is owed $32 million in each of the next 3 years for a total of $96 million. The Sox were supposedly going to pay Wheeler over $100 million, albeit for 2 more years. However, with this move you get a young lefty bat who is still arbitration eligible and making nothing. Wheeler and Ozuna would have cost a lot more and Price and Benintendi is the more desirable duo, IMO. What two better players can the Sox realistically acquire that cost around $100 million?

Dallas Keuchel (discussion)...come on down!
How do you know this? I haven’t seen any numbers thrown around for these guys.

Eyeballs were so much cooler when they came from WSD being wrong about someone. They are no longer original.

Yes, it is weird. Especially since this is the kind of dumpster diving that Hahn has typically done over the years... and it hasn’t worked.
