  1. What a play by Timmy. Cannon for an arm.
  2. Yeah. Maybe lack of depth could become a problem. Oh well...Coop can fix it.
  3. Geez...what happened. That was fast! We got a lead and held it for at least one inning.
  4. Very sure he's not good. Might be pretty good in relief if he learns to stop with the walks.
  5. The best news in addition to leading 4-2 is Carrasco's pitch count is 65 after only 3 innings. Thanks Yolmer and you to Yonder.
  6. Alonso!!! Will wonders never cease. He kilt it.
  7. Might need to add Lopez to that grouping. Then you could close with Colome.
  8. Lucky to get out of that tied. Lousy pitchers are getting on my last nerve.
  9. Manny is pitching scared and it shows.
  10. Now Manny is working slow with runners on...and control starts to be questionable.
  11. Manny continues to work at a nice pace and throwing strike 1. I like it.
  12. Yolmer had a great at bat. Will lead to a short night for Carassco. It's the little things that win games.
  13. Is it me or was that the first meaningful hit for Alonso in like forever?
  14. Eloy going to be a monster once he gets comfortable.
  15. Eloy! Boys came to play tonight. Future looking bright.
  16. Alonso! This is so exciting.
  17. Manny is working reasonably fast and throwing strikes. My kind of guy!
  18. One game from Minnesota and tonight would have been for.500.
  19. Apparently not. Lots of bad pitchers pitch slowly. Can't think of a bad pitcher who pitches fast. Coincidence...I think not.
  20. There is nothing "dumb" about fans wanting to see good baseball and caring about winning games. When you explain how other people only think about the little "micro" unimportant things...makes you sound like a pompous A**.
  21. At this stage of rebuild there is no reason to not win every game you can. If losing is so desirable than put Alonso in centerfield. Ricky taught Lopez nothing by letting him get shelled and lose the W. Also, as others have pointed out...2 1/2 games out of the wild card isn't totally out of it. Probably out of it-Yes - but not out of it.
  22. I would love to know who it was it that first said to RH that the Sox should take a look at Alonso. Was it KW, some scout or maybe RH himself? That person should be found and never let into a talent meeting again. On the other hand...find who first suggested McCann and promote him and never hold a closed door meeting about possible acquisitions without having him in the room.
  23. Rebuilding shouldn't mean to not manage well. Losing isn't a necessity during the rebuild just the probability.
  24. It's odd that a smart baseball man like Ricky doesn't seem to feel it when a pitcher is losing it or a hitter needs to sit for a few days. Most of us can see those things and start buzzing on this forum before the roof caves in. None of us have Ricky's 40 years in the game and yet virtually all of us are mystified by some of his decision making. Ricky very obviously is not dumb and yet continues to out think him self. He doesn't even need to come up with anything clever. He has bench coaches and a pitching coach to suggest the smart thing to do. I do think he manages the clubhouse side of things very well...the game side not so much.
  25. Works for me!
