I think I am pining for Collins not really thinking Zavala is the answer. However, I do think a 3 catcher system may work well with the unique hitting skills of McCann/Collins.

It seems a perfectly logical baseball decision to spend what money is available on several very good players rather than 1 excellent player. Whatever RH and the FO feel is maximizing the available resources. What they decide to get with those resources is the question. Harping on the Alonso/Jay stuff is water under the bridge. I personally hope available money goes to pitching, pitching and more pitching. Never have enough. The every day lineup is looking better all the time. When the Alonso situation is resolved and Robert arrives it will take care of itself.

I don't care if it's Zavala or Zivala as long as it's not Castillo.

You do have to be a careful shopper.

Yesterday Robert went 4 for 5 with 3 rbi and a walk off double. Not long now!

If nothing else...it would provide a marketing jolt.

Weather it's McCann or Zivala it won't be Castillo. That might be enlightening.

I like Burr. Hope he gets it fixed and is ready to go when the Sox get competitive.

Count me in. He's is a very competent piece of the puzzle. Not dominating but takes the ball every 5 days. More than half his starts are quality.

A couple are on the roster.

Markakis types are IMO what we should use free agency for. Plug your holes with competent performers. Chasing and overpaying for your stars just doesn't seem to work. Your own system needs to develop the stars and we are doing a good job of that.

A championship team needs 4th outfielders and good middle relief. I know the attention goes to the stars but it is a 25 man roster.

Not surprisingly...that has become a problem.

Afraid we waited to long to find SP. Also, we were unlucky with the Kopech/Rodon injuries. I will try to be content with the growth of Anderson/Moncada/Jimenez/Giolito and the finding useful pieces of McCann/Tilson. A productive winter and the return of the walking wounded will have us competing for the division next year.

And he is reported to be baseball smart.

When in a rebuild...finding a player who wasn't on the radar (McCann) is really BIG. Tilson has also been a pleasant surprise. Perhaps two pieces of the 25 man puzzle.

Don't be sad...not long now.

I agree. He would take a very reasonable amount IMO. He would value highly the security of a 20-25 million 4 or 5 year extension for family security. He hasn't been banking mega millions like some who would consider that small change.

Like all relievers...needs to throw strikes.

Good games for all the little ball guys. I love winning both ends of a DH with 1 run victories.

If only we had Kopech & Rodon off the DL.

Fast workers keep the defense in the game.

Working fast and throwing strikes...that's what good pitchers do. Didn't shake McCann off once.

A very good days work for the boys! Sox Win---Sox Win!

Throwing strikes is a real good thing for relivers to do.
