Jose Ruiz is the Adam Engel of the pitching staff

Wasn't it his shoulder earlier this season?

So it goes.

Yep. I wouldn't be surprised if he'll be another candidate that goes under the knife at some point. It's a shame because Burr is one of the young guys in that pen that is legit decent.

Yah, that is always a possibility.  But a few people here had him on the surgery table last time he went on the IL and he was back shortly after the minimum stay, so it seems a bit premature to be projecting surgery.

Sad for Burr, but Ruiz was throwing pretty well right before he was sent out.  Interested in what he looks like.

Another blow to those who posted that they thought the Sox pen would be fine moving forward with all the "talent/prospects" in the system. Me thinks not. Fortunately good experienced bullpen options are always available every off season so it shouldn't be a killer to the rebuild. As I posted though I have very little faith any of the players those folks were touting will be anything substantial for the Sox in the future.

No he is not. He's a youngish stiff. Engel is a middle aged stiff.

Like all relievers...needs to throw strikes.

From Scott Merkin's story: "But White Sox manager Rick Renteria said this pain is located more in his right forearm. Burr will be re-evaluated in two weeks."

As DJ would say, "Uh-oh..."

I like Burr.  Hope he gets it fixed and is ready to go when the Sox get competitive.
