Just today reading last Tuesday's newspapers... Scott Boras said on Monday last, as quoted by the Booth newspapers: Also, IRod said why he signed with the Tigs:
-
every few months we get a Griffey rumor - it would ne a horrible thing to do to the Sox to have him on the roster
-
I am heading out the door for just that purpose right now...

damn CBS didn't use the footage they shot! good piece about the town though and what is happening - but for cutting me out - :fyou CBS!
-
no - economic, political (ABC), pastoral (CBS), nothing cinema -
-
and because the news crews were from Chicago there was back and forth about baseball and I got to tell both news crews that Steve Bartman is my idol... thanks to the poster who gave me that phrase to use! At least for once a Chicago native will be identified as a Sox fan! The CBS crew says the new renovations at USCF are looking good

what would you wear to be on national tv news? check out CBS evening news tonight and ABC news tomorrow what did I wear? Sox turtleneck and Sox jacket more sure I am make the CBS news than the ABC news but who knows, may make both and may make neither - I am only in background shots on PBS tonight - I save my wisest thoughts for the networks

1549, that is not the evil empire speech, which was given in March 1983. You have listed the Berlin speech from I think 1987. (It is known to me as the "let's imitate JFK speech but I digress...) I was not, am not, will never be remotely a fan of Reagan and his 8 years. When he was shot, I was the only pastor in town to throw open my church for a continuing prasyer vigil until we knew he was safe out of surgury. Since he was a president he must be accorded the respect of the office and HB to him. These are surely not easy days for his family as that is a tough disease for everyone.

this is a Beatlles thread!!!!!! Do not hijack thread!
-
always good to have the history retold - odd (and very sad) thing is I cannot eat pizza now - allergic to yeast, garlic, milk products - as baggio can attest - he was there for the 2002 pizza event - once a year I will decide to hell with it and have pizza in Chicago and gorge myself (when I can set aside the next day to be sick and have my medicine all lined up to take) for 2003, it was the night of the Overnight at USCF - all that "all you can eat" Connie's pizza - I sat in the outfield and ate and ate and ate and ate - it was almost heaven
-
other than "Beatles are over rated" comments, perhaps the most uninformed thing ever posted here - except if you really believe it - if pizza is pizza to you, then you have had a sad and pitiful life to have never had the real thing I hope someday you will have real pizza and when you have real pizza, then you will know what is
-
How can you call them over rated (other than not knowing the history of music since 1950) when you have never even heard an album all the way through? Maw, I don't know what progress is but I'm against it! Don't know a thing that Darwin says but I'm against it!
-
yes. always has been. and for some reason impossible to fathom, always will be.
-
I'll amend my secondary list to include A Hard day's Night (which deserves inclusion) if FlaSoxxJim will tell us if the Graduate belongs in his first or second list rather than both!
-
there simply is no pizza in Michigan worth eating except in Kalamazoo there is a place called Bilbo's, been there forever, and has Gino East/Pizzaria Duo kind of pizza that will do in a pinch but that's not remotely close to you - I hear Duo has a restaurant in Ann Arbor but I don't suppose you'll go there either is the Jimmy John's sub shop near you? Used to maange the one in kalamazoo - damn good subs
-
I split this because it is a whole new topic. What you say about pizza in texas, true in Michigan too. Your list is too suburban... Pizzaria Duo downtown - the best by far.
-
it was close to being there! but as a movie, it was not of the best films ever - just one I enjoyed a great deal but I did think about it!
-
I suppose now that you say that. I read it too exactly in progression as if not one then two but of course it could be two or more. I am sorry. I did not think that through. So much political s*** in my life right now with the caucus on Saturday that I am not thinking clear and I deeply apologise. I edited the prior to remove that not well thought out arithmatic of mine...

I have worked for Republicans (biggest: Bernard Carey, Republican Cook County Sheriff), Democrats (of course) and Independents (member of Independent Voters of Illinois when I lived in that state, also for John Anderson, 1980) - best crusade: Eugene McCarthy, 1968 being antimachine and given the once glorious moderate Republican wing in Illinois politics (where have you gone Ev Dirksen, Richard Ogilvie, Lucy Reum, Richard Friedman, and so many others) and the alliance they ahd with independent voters and liberal Dems (where have you gone, Paul Douglas, Paul Simon, Bill Singer, Bill Simpson, and so many others) I voted for more Republicans than Democrats until I moved to Michigan and split my volunteer time 50-50 hell, I voted Republican in 2000 (John McCain in the March primary) and again in 2000 (in the August primary when I didn't even vote for myself on the Dem primary ballot - I was unopposed - but cast a vote for some friends in tough battles with right wing neanderthals - oh, I repeatred myself... ) edited to remove a not well thought out line

don't matter - no soxtalk rules have been broken - not been spam or anything else - just pointing out what the ip addresses and other information reveal - those things do get observed now and again and the writing style was the tip off - as I said, no problem because no rules have been violated but people may or may not have a right to know to whom they are speaking
-
the poster "steve bartman's my idol" is our good friend Israel4Life with another name not sure why I4L needs two poster names but there it is -
