Being straight might be fun! I have already been convex, concave, linear, spatial, triangular, and ellipitcal. I was going for ovid next but if you are what straight is, then that is what I want to be!

bmr, zach won't have my child because he wants to have yours first. you have all the brains and all the cute looks and all the action too. How do you do it? You are so blessed! Should I ever grow up, I want to be just like you!

Zach, I can tell you the score of tonight's game before it starts! 0-0 what the score will be after the game start's, that I do not know. say hi to huge and your bro for me -- oh, and 5, 7, 22, 28, 30, and 44

Yes there is. Where you live has a lot to do with Sox fans. My sister - who is still in Florida (and married to a Yankee fan bless her soul the woman is a saint) is only able to get here once a year for the Cub's series and drives to Tampa when they play there. But she goes no matter what their record faithfully. oh come on, of course that is an exception. So is being parapalegic or quadrapeligic. So is being 11. So is being in a nursing home. So is being away at school. So are other valid reasons. I didn't know that we had to have all the obvious exceptions put in for the sake of this thread.

excellent point

wrong. Intelligence and knowledge of baseball is what separates us from the north siders. There is no excuse for not going to see the team you say you are a fan of, whatever their record. If everyone had your attitude, the team would have been out of Chicago and located elsewhere a long time ago. The game experience, the USCF experience, is more than winning and losing. It is tribal. Sox fans show up and non Sox fans don't.
-
I hadn't seen that before my last post. If that is the case, then I have no concern whatsoever at any time or any place for you and your friends getting into USCF because we have already enough people who come out of the woodwork who claim to be Sox fans and want tickets when they haven't supported the Sox all season. While I was a Sox fan before, my first year of being able to go to many games on my own was 1970 - when we were 56-106. I consider myself fortunate to be able to go the games period. While I'd love to see the Sox 50 games over every year, I am a Sox fan, not a fair weather fan. And that goes for my friends, too. We go back many years and that is where we meet - how we have never lost touch with each other - because good teams or bad teams, mighty teams or struggling teams, we are Sox fans and Sox fans go to the game.

seasons tickets holders in the upper deck can go down stairs all they want that is, except for the cubs series, opening day, the all star game and a very few other rare times. I'm not thrilled with the policy but I understand why it is in place and frankly since I have total park access and I sacrifice a lot of things to have seasons tickets, I don't lose any sleep over it at all. You get what you pay for. The original reason for restricting access on sell outs is that the crowd gets really deep on the councourse and was it two seasons ago they had someone with a heart attack out there and they couldn't get the stretcher, etc. to him easily at all. It wasn't the Ligues who screwed it up, it was the first Kansas City series this year when those drunk cubs fans ran on the field. Prior to that game, the ushers actually encouraged all upper deck people to move down below when the crowd was smaller. After the night of many drunks on the field, this "restricted for all games" policy was put into effect. And I have seen no compelling reason to change it. And again, since it doesn't affect me - sounds selfish perhaps but the people who buy seasons tickets aren't going to jump on the field and cause trouble. When the playoffs come I will be up and not allowed down because the sellout policy of total restrictions will be in place and I won't give a damn since I am a simpleton and will be happy just to have any seats for playoff games, happy just to be there. I hear your frustrations, guy - it just isn't going to change this year.

Rafa, I should add, is Brazilian in the reality that he is in Brazil, Recife in fact, and I think handles English very, very well. Rafacosta is a knowledgable Sox fan. He is usually wrong on PK but otherwise is most well informed and I count him as a friend. Rafacosta: Ncorg is a long time Sox fan, very informed, and it is my hope that the current unpleasantness can pass and you guys can find ways to respect each other. Ncorg, please give rafa credit for his long distance Soxfan-ness and consider him one of the best posters here.

in this post and your other post in this thread, you make some excellent points. Are you just that smart or are you that smart and work in some level in the criminal justice system?

So because they guy is "sorry" the fact that Ligue's crimes were much worse than these two guys doesn't matter??? not because he was "sorry" the state's attorney's ofice does an exhaustive pre-sentence report on each person to be sentenced. If someone convincingly turns their life around, the sentence recommendation will be different. Remorse is also a factor - and the prosecutor's office determines if there is remorse and if it is real. Howver, that is a very small variable. And much of sentencing is placed on a grid now that "truth in sentencing" is in effect. You have all these pre-determined factors with variables for this and that and the other and out comes the sentence. For all we know, Ligue had a less, maybe far less, criminal record than those who get sentenced to longer periods. Prior records has a lot of impact on the grid. Working on a case right now where the prior record report surprised everyone and may have errors in it so we are trying to determine what is what. The public has no access to presentence reports. They are not of public record. The only ones that I ever see is for the clients we represent. And if a law office has the rioght software, it is an easy matter to plug in the factors and variables and priors if any and the drug/alcohol assessment with the standards set by the elgislature and see where it comes out. Judges very very seldom deviate from that, because they will get appealed and reviewed and they hate that.

cw did not merge any threads. I found one was merged and retitled it since it had my name as first poster but I did not write that title nor want to be credited with it. werewolves are out tonight or something.

Thanks for your kind words. Ncorg is a die hard Sox fan and knows much about baseball and is a person I often turn to when I have questions. He has never been happy with Colon because of Colon's attitude, his separating himself off in the clubhouse, his refusual to go all out in every game but only when it suits him, among other things. I'd have to say that all I know about Colon, I have to agree with Ncorg. I wish Colon wins every game he ever pitches for us, and Ncorg does too. As for PK, I was surprised to see that in an Ncorg post so I leave that to him to explain. A lot of unexplained posts tonight.

I was not surprised at all by the score last week, So. Carolina vs Virginia. what are the strengths of South Carolina this season?

I dunno.. but I think you're being a bit of an ass about this lately. lol yeah just a touch....... ok maybe a bit overboard... who gives a s*** about paulie, colon or anyone else.... if they dont win the alds then they all suck anyhow..... team effort......... oh well thanks I guess for something that I can't decipher or discern the exact meaning of I stuck up for MB the same way except with a lot more fervor because of my affections for MB and all the Bs. I guess that was wrong too? You did no such thing to this degree of s*** in others faces sarcasm and you know it. I'm done. I made my point. Steff, I regret to say, you are full of s*** tonight, notwithstanding the ignorant attack on your baseball knowledge because you are a woman from another poster. As I read this thread, there seems to be a lot of confusion as to who posted what. I don't know what is up with you and HSC, maybe a few too many margaretas, but having been friends for a while, I can tell you that you are blowing everything out of proportion and right now I am not very thrilled about it. And HSC, yes, everytime MB won when he went from 2-10 to 8 or 9-10 I was right there supporting him by posting with far more emphasis than I have ever done for PK. I got into people's faces about MB, specifically psycho's among others, which I have not done at all for PK. You don't care about PK, fine. The threads were merged tonight by someone not me and my game got ona thread title that I did not write, someone else did. These posts don't even sound much like you two tonight at all. Whatever is going on, it is not amusing right now.

rubbing it in other's faces? That is why I commented in a separate thread. Read today's game thread. Did I make any in your face commenst there? No. In friday's game thread? No. Do I raise the issue in other threads? No. I confined it to one place, my celebration of PK's heating up. There are those who post their things - such as attacks on PK - in every conceivable thread. I limited mine to clearly labeled threads and no where else. He gets trashed in every thread it seems, I stick to clearly labeled threads and do not post any PK comments in other threads, and I get slammed. If I came across as being in anyone's face, I apologise for that was not my intent. More than that, I shall not say because it seems rules differ here depending on who is who.

I dunno.. but I think you're being a bit of an ass about this lately. steff, cheap shot at me - I always believe in giving a player, who has produced, time to get it together just as I did for MB this season, and Frank in 2002, among others. I am merely happy that a valued player who ahs given much to us in the past has gotten hot when we are in stretch drive of a division race and for the trash that PK has taken and still takes, it is wrong to celebrate his heating up now when we need it most? ok whatever
-
a lot of hostility here when we won a come from behind game to sweep a divisions rival to stay in first with a head to head four game series coming tomorrow - we need PK, we need Colon, we need everyone - this is the time, this is the moment after the season is over we can decide who owes who what and alll the rest - please

we got the Trib, I don't remember seeing that, damn that was a keeper!

the sentencing reports must have interesting. Ligue pere did the clean up his act thing which seems real. These dudes must have done the "I have no problem, what's it to you" thing

may it be an 18 inning twinkie loss
