fact: as of today we are 12 under 500 on the road - not very good but not that horrid as I think 5 AL teams have worse road records - so we are top of the bottom of the crop - can we say something good about our home record? intersting: the last time we were above 500 was May 2nd and we were 4.5 games out then - after everything we are now 5.5 out - if we the the team back that played the cubs and twins, we are fine - if we have the vs DRays and Tigs team, it will feel like a long time until the end of September

this eliminates the twins as contenders and leaves things between KC and us - good!

just a comment - everything I know of MB, "we" to him is definately his team mates and the Sox. ' But each of us has more that one "we" in our lives. Everyone should consider all the "we" groups that each identify with. MB is a lifelong Cards fan and St Louis is in a different league, they are not a Sox rival in any way. Since the Sox are not in any way in competition with the Cards, then for MB to say "we" when talking of his childhood team is like any one of us. MB always is a team player with the Sox and his first "we" in his vocation is the Sox - any one challenge that, please advise as to your proof that he is not other than 100% a team player. I have spoken with him and with his family and "we" is always the term when used for the Sox. truth be known - and here is a secret I reveal for the first time - MB has a souvenier of a St Louis team in his locker..... the St Louis Rams. That is where he grew up. Hell, I moved to Michigan in 1975 before most of you were born and when I speak of Chicago, it is always "we." The place where you grew up and the things that are dear to you in youth and adolensence always stay close in your heart no matter what. Am I disloyal to Michigan that when I speak of things Chicago I say "we"? Hardly.
