welcome to the boards - I totally disagree with your statements on Colbain and Love, but we are a diverse group of people thought wise and better for it and I look forward to your comments on things, given your unusual name, should be thought provoking!
  6. there was no way I meant to dis your wallpaper and anything I said that sounded like it to you, I apologise.
  7. No to Weaver, no to Weaver, no to Weaver. I've watched him for years and I think he has already peaked. If I am wrong, he is still too much of a head case and high maintenance non team player for the Sox and would only be a rent a player for us. I would trade for Weaver only if the total cost was Koch.

without digging up stats on that - it can be safely stated that the vast majority of peple who attempt or commit suicide are deeply depressed the reversal of the equation is the answer it is nice to have someone to blame when tragedy strikes because then we can catalogue it, pigeon hole it, tie it up, rather than say that the complexity and the confusion and the mystery is something that is not yet attainable by us -

it cannot be seriously challenged by any serious music student that Nirvana was a great band - there may have been better but they were great - that Colbain was profoundly and tragically gifted - that Nirvana's impact on rock music is profound and changed the course of the American music scene I don't understand those who blame Courtney Love for Colbain's demise - sure she had a role in his life that was major but if she never existed he would have ended the same - the sad, very sad demons that plagued him, she was only someone who was there, not the cause of his pain, and no one could have saved him - Colbain has responsibility for his choices to the extent that he could control his pain, and the very angst beyond pain that he could endure that killed him by his own hand, was in part the sad fuel for much of the genius in his music - and touches everyone who knows the type of abandonment and neglect that he did as a child - the artist that he was, he was extraordinarily sensitive to it and put to music what much of us feel but cannot express eatch the unplugged performance again - that was a man just about to check out - which he did - when his pain overwhelmed him
  10. one good thing about this board of many good things is the exchange of differing perspectives - thanks jas
  11. missed you Fanof14 - the unbounded ego of Beane - you and CK called it right - he has hurt himself and his ability to do his job by bragging so

  13. weak. That's a great shot of Jose, and the "gun" is the font from the Sopranos. Unreal. it is a great shot of St JosE6 but now I have to look at him for the rest of the month - never watched the Sopranos so did not know that was the source - hey I wasn't complaining - I put it up as wallpaper as soon as I got it -

Didn't you mean, "The great Maury"? I flattered his ego enough CK -- and BMR, once I used the word "mountable" the rest of the evening was like a Billy Koch pitch - banged away for another home run!

remember Maury's great use of the word "doable" I met someone yesterday and while we were talking about - stuff - I being horribly influenced by soxtalk used the word "mountable" and s***, that word was very successful - it made an impression, it was in fact true, and the rest of the day was - fun so I guess Maury and Steff get an assist scored for last night/this morning and I pass along this dating tip from Maury and Steff for the rest of you to try
