those laws exist everywhere too the heart of the appeal to the Supreme Court I think is under the equal protection clause of the constitution as well as a violation of the constitutional right to privacy I sure hope the Supremes do the right thing and strike the anti-gay laws down

that is a Michigan statute. Parallel statues abound in each state, but as to specifics such as 1 year statute of limitation,s you'd have to find the Illinois cite.
-
it is the search terms used - notice the word "sex" is not in the statute - as I say, theses types of scattered statutues are tough to find. For that one I was on michiganlegislature.org and they had a cite look up and someone from another office had supplied the cite so I just verified it. one route to find it yurself - time consuming - is to check the reporting requirements for each state's sexual offender registry - but that probably would not reveal all of any state's statutes on sexual conduct, just theones they deemed reportable. The debate that led to this particular cite being raised was in a plea from a CSC3rd to seduction and would that avoid the SOL (sexual offenders list = s*** out of luck). In this case it did not.

recently oldroman posted something about sex between other than married people being illegal in Virginia and some people doubted that, and I said that it generally is in each state. Problem is no states ever wrote out everything systemnatically, it is piecemeal all over the various statutes. However I happened to come upon a cite while searching for something else, this is a Michigan statute that has parallels in 49 other states and this is only a tiny % of the statutes that make sex illegal with other than married spouses - 750.532 Seduction; punishment. Sec. 532. Punishment—Any man who shall seduce and debauch any unmarried woman shall be guilty of a felony, punishable by imprisonment in the state prison not more than 5 years or by fine of not more than 2,500 dollars; but no prosecution shall be commenced under this section after 1 year from the time of committing the offense.

that is not news, just the inflexible logic of baseball math. As of today the twinkies are 18-18 at home for the year, hardly unbeatable. today's game is today's game and let's hope we win

for f***s sake go to the damn game. It is all hype, this is, and means nothing. Live with fear and you limit yourself. My parents didn't stop me from doing anything that I wanted to do, sure as hell some alleged threats from some alleged sources ain;t gonna stop me. What is the worst that can happen? You are a part of history. You have a 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance of that. The bright side is you see a game with friends. How about this: you stay home and you and I make a bet. On July 4th: If al-queda blows up a Texas baseball game, I will pay you $1,000 cash. If al-queda does not blow up a Texas baseball game, you pay to me $1,000 cash. deal? Hey kids, I am Tom Ridgway and I say be scared of the goblins and the ghosties and the democrats and the al queda terrorists and stay home under the bed

I may have one ticket available for Saturday and I have one for sure available on Sunday. The down side is you sit with me in the upper deck, section 534, row 5, right behind home plate. The down side is you buy the tcket from me ($20). The upside is you see the game and the upside is I am not all that bad a person, usually. I will know later if Saturday will be free - Sunday for sure is free - anyone wants to go, tell me. But be definite. I will kill the next last second canceler. I wouldn't mind if Murc wanted to do one of the two since we haven't met, but the invit is open to everyone.

Don't make any difference what Easley is paid, he was cut from the team in the spring. As in, he does not play for Detroit, he only gets checks from thm. That was sign to the fans that the Tigs were going to bear the costs of rebuilding and everything was future oriented and the debris of the past was gone, gone, gone. Again, Easley was cut, released, discarded, thrown out, eliminated, taken off the 40 player roster permanenty, termiated with extreme prejudice, before the season started. Easley does not play for the Tigers. Actually I thought he was playing in Florida now but I could be wrong about that. I know for sure he is off, gone, removed from, cast off, apart from the Tigs. Regardless of what they pay him to stay away, not pick up a bat in old English D uniform, and in general come no where with a 75 miles radius of wherever the Tigers happen to be. That was considered good news in Tigertown. For them, it was there version of getting rid of Clayton. Higgy is a fan favorite and is overpaid no more than say PK or St JosE6 or others on various MLB teams. He is yet productive and considered a good mentor for the younger guys.

Easley was cut before the season, a sign the Tigs are serious about cutting losses and moving on into the future. I don't think anyone in Detroit is down on Higginson. If their GM and manager stay the course, they should be a contender in a few years.
