  1. we once got no hit and won the game too - the guys have got to hit and the more I think about it, the more I want Gary Ward gone - one of KW's guys foisted on JM - I so wish the announcement would be made and we could get on with the future rather than dwell in the hitless limbo -
  2. we beat Minnesota when we got three hits - how often will that happen - yeah the 7-5 game is the only one of late with enough hits to need your fingers to count -
  3. the royals seem to be signing everyone who washed out on us kind of like a retirement community
  4. I am easily brusied. Verbal abuse would be enough to wound me horribly. October? Not only possible play-offs but have you ever noticed my signature? October is right in the middle of football season. Mid December or the second weekend of January through the end of March is fine enough to get married! (Note: no one ever plans to get married on Super Bowl sunday.) Of course last summer, there was the couple who wanted to get married in suburban detroit - I emailed them the Michigan football schedule - they picked the day of the Washington game - I told them I'd be there as soon as the post game was over - best thing was the same night the Sox were playing in Detroit so I went to the game in Ann Arbor, showed up at the house in M gear, changed to pastor gear, did the wedding, shook hands, changed into Sox gear and was on my way to Comerica - now that was a nice couple. If everyone picked their wedding days with such care, I would do more of them.
  5. has it been 8 games? I was pretty sure we had only double figures in hits once the last ten games - but if it has been no more than 5 hits in any game the last eight games - amazing we won anything in that time. It cannot continue.
  6. A maxwell street pork chop sammich might distract me. Or maybe a La Milanese steak sammich. I am making lists so that I can bring some groceries to the next game I go to -- just for saftey's sake... This is getting expensive though! You know someone called me today and wanted me to perform her and hr faince's wedding on May 24. On a day when we have a game! Can you imagine? I haven't been so outraged since one of my friends wanted me to do his wedding on the same day as Sox-Cubs at Comiskey game. (I didn't; I gave him the number of another minister.) Especially bad because I have a coupon to use for box seats in May and I wanted to use them for that friday as well -- hell if I am am driving to and from and to and from just to do a wedding! I gave her a schedule and said, hey, try again.
  7. you have a point there I hadn't thought of - we have been in a funk since that game.
  8. Come on Joe, no one can top that! Unless you mix in some doritos with it...
  9. Free speech Heather? This asshole can go anywhere he wants in his own life and say a woman should be smacked - as long of course as he is in the confines of the law. He could be charged, under the right circumstance, with any number of criminal charges. Try this: if free speech is absolute, try adocating that the president of the United States should be assassinated. Would you defend that as free speech? Or would you say that is over the line and the person who advocates that is rightly guilty of a federal offense? Try saying adults should have sex with five year old children. Would you defend that? If a sportscaster goes on the air and says the president should be assassinated and adults should molest children, would you defend that as free speech? If an asshole says women should be smacked in his private life, as opposed to saying that on the air as an employee of a corporation who pays his salary and does not want to be associated with people who advocate smacking women, does the corporation lose its right to disassociate itself with the sportcaster? Maybe he should be lucky he was suspended and not fired. If advocating smacking women as a paid employee of a corporation is ok, then again, what about sexually molesting children? The effect is the same after all - children who experience domsetic abuse in the home are going to grow up with deep psyhic wounds just as mush as children who experience sexual abuse. I am a minister by vocation who also works as a legal assitant who has worked in foster care. I wish that everyone who thinks that advocating smacking women as a paid corporate spokesperson is ok would spend time with children who have experienced domestic abuse. I wish Heather you would look into the eyes of a child who has seen daddy beat mommy and tell that child that advocating smacking women on a sports show on air is free speech. There is always, always, one thing in common with men who smack women - they always blame the woman. It is always her fault. She made him do it. She forced him to beat her. After all, she caused it by what she did. If she hadn't of done what she had done, he wouldn't have had to beat her. She made him do it. She asked for it. She did what she knew caused the beating. It is never the guy's fault, only the woman's fault. Just as it is apparently Mrs Kidd's fault because after all she sits ringside or goes to games in Boston. That proves she deserves to be smacked and anyone who adovates that is perfectly right. So is killing the president or sexually molesting children. It is all the same. They deserved it, they asked for it, and saying it is ok is free speech, right? Free speech? May you never have to spend time in a domestic shelter after being beaten by a man. May you never have to look in your children's eyes and explain why daddy beat on mommy. May no sportscaster who has gotten paid well to talk on tv about games be allowed to advocate smacking women. I'd like to see him on the receiving end and see how much he enjoys getting smacked. But no, he will never be in that situation - he gets suspended for 30 days and look at the tears shed for him. He should be required to give one year's salary to a domestic abuse shelter and spend a month working nights in a shelter giving comfort to the women who have been beaten and the children who have seen it before he is allowed close to a microphone again. Or perhaps he should get out of tv all together and stop talking about games on the air and take as a job as a janitor where he can mutter all he wants about beating women and not worry about being suspended from his job. But once he goes back on air, he has a responsibility that this asshole has shirked. I would have fired his ass. He had no rights violated. 30 days suspended and you all feel sorry for him. Astounding. I've seen too many smacked women and children of abusive relationships. What the f*** is wrong with anyone who defends this overpaid ignorant spoiled pampered jock who gets paid to give scores and give insights on games advocating violence against anyone. The f***er should be doing play by play in an emergency room when a woman comes in after being beaten. Yes! He broke her jaw! Wow, what a smack! And she lost two teeth! Whgat a man! Smacking women, that is alllllllllright!!!!! And bonus points for the two kids cowering and crying int he corner! Yes, we have a winner! Let's get some post smack comments: Tell me smacker, we know it was her fault: tell us what she did to deserve being smacked! And right after the post smack comments, we will have a commerical break and then return with another episode of Poor Men Being Picked On By Our Cruel Society! Remember - if it ain't born with balls, smack it! It is your right! Am I coming on to strong? Come on and visit me and I'll take you on the rounds to meet women who have smacked by big macho guys. Am I coming on to strong? In language that seems to be be par for the course: the person who continues to defend this asshole should go suck OJs cock and tell him how great it was that he smacked his wife and showed her who was boss, the b**** deserved it after all.
  10. If I bring funnel cakes, will they distract anyone? Beer?
  11. oh that's even better - let me live in suspense waiting for when it will happen and then your brother shows up too as if by magic so now I live waiting for both of you to get me
  12. you know that at this very moment Zach is getting a post together that will sting me good and you want me to worry about you changing your mind?
  13. hey, psycho has the ability to change his mind - better than most of us that never do it. You lay out the facts enough, he sees them in time. and he is loyal to the Sox. Whether the weather vane turns around or he has the capacity to learn and change his mind is one's own perepective but I'll take Psycho anyday. At least he reads everything and does get new understandings. Unlike you or me, since neither one of has changed our minds on anythng since 1986.
  14. Baggio, do you pull for the Sox to lose? I doubt it. If you did, I'd be calling you out big time! As it is, since you said you saw a point there, I am responding to my good friend who would rather die than see the Sox lose. To want our team to lose is astounding. Look at the Lions. A lot of their fans were hoping they would tank last season to get their head coach and GM fired. So what happened. Both stayed. Then Mariucci got fired by San Fran, so they coach was fired to get Mariucci. So if Maricuui hadn't been fired, they would still have Morningweh. And damn if they still don't have Mullen as GM. And a 2-14 record and the same GM and the coach only changed by luck. What does losing accomplsih but make it more difficult to get free agents and an orgainization saddled with a loser label and that is hard for the players to shake. Do you think the Yankee fans are wishing for big losing streaks to make the adjustments to keep winning? I doubt it. If adjustments need to be made, cry out for them. But do you think it is easier to build a winner from a team that goes 50-112 or 81-81? Do you think the Lions can pick up a few games and be a Super Bowl contender? No, the hole is too deep. To wish one's own team to lose is a loser mentality and we sure as hell don't need that. And losing has never solved the problem of winning. It only is another loss. (Which may be why the parade of free agents the Bulls had in what, 2000, and not one signed by the Bulls - no one is attracted to a losing orgainization. Much easier to build a team that is 500 rather than way below.) Unless you want to have the Sox lose 100 games so you can say, see, I was right. But you can say that with an 81 loss team or a 61 loss team just as well.
  15. Mrs. kidd must be the first person in all of human history to want to sit court side to get attention for her self. Damn her! Ther first person in all of NBA history to crave the attention, to sit with her son sit front row, to be an attention-grabber. And to think that she feels she has a right to go to Boston and see a game! No other players wife has ever done that, damn her! No player's wife has ever gone to a game in Boston or anywhere, who does Mrs Kidd think she is - her job is to sit at home and be smacked by her husband There are days that I do not believe what I read here.
  16. for Billy Joel, bring Viagra for Elton John, well, I have no advice for you there.
  17. that would be a glitch for "be going to bed" which indicates that I need to go to bed now...

  19. No one will be playing the race card with JR. No one will be playing the race card with JR. No one will be playing the race card with JR. No one will be playing the race card with JR. No one will be playing the race card with JR. No one will be playing the race card with JR. No one will be playing the race card with JR. No one will be playing the race card with JR. No one will be playing the race card with JR. No one will be playing the race card with JR. No one will be playing the race card with JR. No one will be playing the race card with JR. and as that is so true it bears repeating: No one will be playing the race card with JR. No one will be playing the race card with JR. No one will be playing the race card with JR. as for Bill O'Reilly: :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou as for Braun and Sharpton: now baggio, do you really think anyone is running for president with supporting KW in their platform? National politics has nothing to do with this... unless you want to suggest that G W Bush was an owner when the rangers traded away Sosa... or hired valentine... or other stupid things.... and the windfall profiits he made in selling his stock that screams inside payoffs... now back to baseball as we know it: No one will be playing the race card with JR. No one will be playing the race card with JR. No one will be playing the race card with JR. No one will be playing the race card with JR. No one will be playing the race card with JR.
  20. as I live in the eastern time zone I will be going to be going to bed early, so someone please add my chat comments at appropriaate moments: if KW is fired by game time: "wow!" "thank you" "I feel good..." "way to go" If KW is not fired by game time: "f*** you D Lo" "not another f***ing double play" (probably need to use this one maybe 2 or 3 times) "oh f*** another inning with runners left on base" "oh wow, another f***ing 5 hits for us" "when is Ward being f***ing fired"
  21. find and identiify which season that Valentin managed, other than 2000 when we also made the playoffs but we did it as a division champion for which you want to trade what the Sox record was for what Valentine's record was note in the AL he never finished higher than 3rd... and note that JM's career % is better than Valentine's... and if I really wanted to be silly, I would ask your favorite personal memories of each year of his career and how his teams over achieved - 1985 AL West Texas 129 53 76 .411 7 1986 AL West Texas 162 87 75 .537 2 1987 AL West Texas 162 75 87 .463 6 1988 AL West Texas 161 70 91 .435 6 1989 AL West Texas 162 83 79 .512 4 1990 AL West Texas 162 83 79 .512 3 1991 AL West Texas 162 85 77 .525 3 1992 AL West Texas 86 45 41 .523 4 1996 NL East NewYorkM 31 12 19 .387 4 1997 NL East NewYorkM 162 88 74 .543 3 1998 NL East NewYorkM 162 88 74 .543 2 1999 NL East NewYorkM 163 97 66 .595 2 2000 NL East NewYorkM 162 94 68 .580 NL 2 2001 NL East NewYorkM 162 82 80 .506 3 2002 NL East NewYorkM 161 75 86 .466 5
  22. something in the way you move attracts me like no other lover, something...
  23. we were I do believe - I remember in the 2000 playoffs when JM went to the mound to consult with JB and CJ, that was supposed to have been the first time ever a black amnager, catcher, and pitcher were on the mound at the same time - I agree there is no reason to be concerned with JR's record in that it has always been good - the Sox would just want to follow a public process that is very inclusive in hiring the replacement - I hope this does not become a forum on jesse Jackson who in no way has said or nothing anything with the Sox situation - let's stick to what is - everyone hired in baseball will eventually be fired and just doing it is the only way to go -
  24. I don't think there is a need to worry there - a change is needed and African American managers have been let go off without problems, we did it with Larry Doby and the cubs did it last season with Baylor - firing a GM may be novel but only because of the lack of African Americans hired to that position - JR would want to follow a very public interview process for the replacement - but in the off the record comments it could be made very clear that betwen JM and KW that JR was choosing JM - that offsets any pr damage there -
