  1. A lot of us noticed - and cared. The fact that the need to upgrade ledf to one of the more less-than-satisfying moves in WS history cannot be denied but neither can the desire for an upgrade after cringing all through the 2000 season. If JosE6 keeps it to 20 errors this year full time, I will be very grateful - if I have to keep recording E6 on my scorecards all season I will be very unhappy.
  2. sox win and that is as far as my predictions go
  3. I'm at work and just waiting for the game updates to be posted
  4. in answer to the thread question, given all the circumstances, I am comfortable with the 3 catchers for now
  5. alive - and with an ankle tattoo to match your Sox one and then I went and doubled it with another Sox tattoo on the other side of the ankle -
  6. I hope he gives them good advice like sign Navarro rather than Clemens
  7. do play be play since I am at work and probably can't watch or listen today - but I can check on line
  8. there was a small article in a recent Trib that I did not bother to read.
  9. Miles has his fan club here that wanted him to be on the 25 player roster.

    Hey Rex

i was trying to remember if it was you. if i remember correctly you are very knowledgeable on the team down there. bottom line is will you be able to write something up during the season? Sure, I will post things from time to time... I will offer opinions that may or may not be the same as what is read in the typical publications. I watch a lot of games, talk to the players some, talk to scouts at games occasionally, have a couple friends in the Barons office, and know other knowledgeable fans that go a lot. All that and 50-cents will buy you a coke if you are lucky, but hopefully it gives you insight as to how I come about said opinions. If you ever want to know about a specific player, ask and I will tell you what I see/think. I have experienced your take on our minor league players to be very interesting and helpful, thanks for all you have done and thanks for all you will do -
  11. I appreciate everyone who knows all this stuff and shares the information with us. I have never felt so in touch with the whole orgainzation. Thanks all!
  12. from the WS MLB main page: "In good spirits and ready to play real baseball, the White Sox finished their two-game series in Houston with a sparkling 5-0 win over the Astros at Minute Maid Park. Following the game, infielder Aaron Miles and right-handed pitcher Dave Sanders were sent back to the minors"
  13. I am feeling so good about the season!
  14. game over? I can't get it on MLB radio.
  15. saddam is no Hitler, he is a petty tyrant. There were many options other than war and I have stated those enough. The very people who made this situation should not be trusted to wage war to undo their past actions - when you have to go to war to drive attention away from your major, major big time f*** ups, you shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the decision making process. These same people are making short sided decision all over again and as their past decisions have come back to haunt us big time, so will the decisions they make now. At the very least, we are running the best recruitment drive for al Queda possible. And at the very least, this administration should have been honest about their past miscalculations and stop the moral posturing. These people have made the worst decisions ever and share in the blood that Saddam has on his hands. And they are making the US less secure in the future just as their past actions have done.
  16. and all the experts who cried that Arizona would meet Kentucky in the semi final rather than final - so much for experts - neither team even made it to the Final 4 - way to go lower seeds and show up the experts again!
  17. hey awesome! missed you at SoxFest, mised you a lot! are you doing opening day or weekend? are you going to be posting the inning recaps?
  18. Psycho, I would love to see Saddam on trial. However, Bush pulled the US out of the world court/war crimes tribunal so we are left without an agency to try him. More short-sided Bush ineptness. Ever wonder where Saddam got his weapons? How Rumsfeld toasted Saddam? A few links that answer those questions follow. My bet is all the pro war pro Bush 18-22 years olds, and others, will not read these because they are afraid of the truth. They can't handle the truth. They will look up a minor leagues rookie leaguers stats and the 8th round draft pick of the 1983 Portland Trail Blazers but not check out something that affects our nation. I will deeply respect anyone who does check all these links. link 1 link 2 link 3 Link 4
  19. nice pick up for clujer, cerb! and thanks!
  20. I assume you read the magazine for the baseball, yes?
  21. nicely done, that response!

    The irony of protests

everyone is molded by the circumstances of their lives. You are manipulated as much as anyone else in the world. We all are. Some break free however. I never said that no one was manipulated. Please deal with what I say and not what I didn't say. When homes are bulldozed and given the realities of the treatment of the poeple in the palestinian areas, it doesn't take much more than looking around to understand where the hate is coming from - not taught by Hamas but simply reality recruits for Hamas, just as what is happening in Iraq right now is the best recruiting tool for al Queda ever. When 45% of the American people polled believe Saddam was behind September 11th, we know that Americans are manipulated, perhaps by Bush saying "9-11" and "Saddam" within almost sentence during his press conferance even though there is still no evidence of that other than casual. And as far as that goes, the Bush family is friends with the bin laden family - not with Osama but with a lot of the rest of them - that type of connection is far more real than any alleged connection between Saddam and Osama, who actually detest each other.
  23. sometimes my friend you just have to break down and stop buying your sports magazines at the $1 store - what is a sports magazines? Hire some unemployed college grads and pay them for some copy and who cares what it says, it will sell -
  24. "Mark Buehrle, White Sox Last season, this 24-year-old won nearly 20 games (19-12). Expect him to win at least that may games in 2003. Buehrle made 23 quality starts last season (which means he went into the seventh inning in 23 of his 34 starts). That's awesome, especially by today's standards. Drafted in the 38th round three years ago, Buehrle is now 39-21 in The Show. Scouts should have lost their jobs for not recognizing his amazing talent. Pencil him in for at least 20 wins while helping the White Sox get back to the playoffs." I could read that all day but WTF was up with the sound effects from what appears to be some ESPN pop up?
