I humbly suggest you looked at too much interpretation of what I said - Clinton did have instincts to act, the Republicans in Congress especially the House said no way, and Clinton meekly went along - he didn't lift a finger to build a consensus within this country to do something, he spent no political capital, he did nothing - that to me is saying that everyone involved did nothing. Everyone did nothing. That also includes the Demcrats in Congress who followed Clinton's lead and did nothing. As I write that, I do not see nor intend partisan statements and if you see them, I deeply apologise for it is not intended. No one wanted to do that had any cost and no one did a thing. I do disagree on the press. While it was ongoing the press did cover it, the information was out there as it happened. I remember sitting with the New Yorker trying to comprehend the ethnic groups involved and comprehend the scope of what was happening when it started. A lot of the press covered it. The press did not do nothing, they reported fairly well when the president's plane was shot down, as it began, as the toll went 100,000 - 200,000 - 300,000 - etc. NPR and BBC were all over it too. The press did its job. Simply no one cared. No one wanted to send troops to serve as a peace keeping force, to get between the Hutus and the Tutsis. No one did anything with the exception that the press did report and it was with knowledge that we did nothing. I have to commend the press for doing its job which makes the inaction of everyone (everyone) else that much worse.

The Cheat will as always do something awesome for you - I gotta get to work, you take care, talk later -

that's been a baseball trend for a whlle, in case the opener gets weathered out, still gets your opener in with everyone in town without a later in the season make up screwing up the schedules

you have a calm demeanor that I appreciate with your straight forward insights that is good when we are talking about panic and Game 2 being a "must win" and some are cliff jumping already.

France might like a Koch-a-thon... they'd make Nuke the King!

you are here late in the day for you! good to see you! I enjoy reading your posts a lot and look forward to them for your insights and comments. Just saying hi.

YASNY said well about the corpseball thing. I quoted that portion of your post because I do not think you are whining, not at all. Day 1 ended in diaster when we were 2 outs away and that has us all juiced in a way we didn't want and in a way that frightens us, bullpen failure. You write baseball well, you are not whining, I appreciate your baseball posts and your insights and I really hope we get the stomping of KC you want - I agree it would do a world of good.

Capn12, I always pay attention to your posts! I thought you were laying a little low because your USC was not doing much in basketball and you were in hibernation! Not a season without you.

I honestly ask, how is that partisan? Both - all - sides did nothing and I said that and how it was that they did nothing. The Key to My Neighbor's House by Elizabeth Neuffer is one good book among many that outline the very bipartisan nothingness of US inaction as well as everyone else's inaction other than to wthdraw the few UN peacekeeping forces that were there. There are many more places of inaction to cite but if discussion of this is just going be labeled partisan I don't have the energy or desire this Holy Week or perhaps ever again for that. From the point of view of the Church one particular church body was totally silent while many of its adherents (laity and clergy) were wielding the machetes including in the massacres of other of its members that took place in its places of worship and schools. But then again all church bdies world wide were silent for not demanding some sort of whatever could be done to stop the killing. This is not a place where anyone looks good at all. Our nation as the sole superpower did nothing, bipartisanly. The UN did nothing. NATO did nothing. The EU did nothing and EU nations have historic ties in Rwanda. Th African nations did nothing. The nations of the East did nothing. The Church did nothing.

what else is a very slowly awakening football team - years away, but years closer than they were. but they are running two of the most successful b-ball programs ever, and at the same time. My division 3 school was the same - basketball was what we had. And so we really enjoyed that - 5 NCAA Div III titles and no matter what level, being there when your school wins an NCAA is an ultimate thrill.

I know what you meant. I was perhaps not clear in responding. Sorry. I do not want to see KC "step up its effort in supporting the Royals". Let it be dead there. We have enough problems in that city historically without them actually being back to supporting their team!
-
send an email to mlb - there is a link somewhere on that page - with your texch problems every season I have problems the first week or so getting through and I bombard them with my problems and occasionally get a reply sometime usually in the midst of weekk 2 they seem to get the bugs out and it works fine forever after b**** to them for now a lot

granted I didn't turn the game on until PK was stealing 2nd but sure looked like a number of empty seats to me - maybe folks left early - I don't care to see KC waking up, doesn't matter which team (As or Royals) we have had some bad times in KC

Heather has been busy moding at blackhawkzone and is also right at graduation while student teaching

but who Fielder Jones beat in the World Series makes it unique

got to salute them on a hell of a basketball season

the Toronto astroturf took out D Young's knee and broke his leg but the Tigs are 2-0 for the first time since 1986

never get too high with any victory never get too low with any defeat we will lose at least 60 this season - it is just the way it is

I wish I would have heard that non conversation!
