Official Recruiting Thread II
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 09:21 PM) I don't think Ohio State could take a verbal even if they wanted to. Their grid is full for this year and next I believe. And Lenzelle Smith better be a 20 per scorer at tOSU with the way you speak of him Brian. Not right away, give him until after Thanksgiving of his freshmen year. He is just fun to watch. He is almost unchallenged at the varsity level. Obviously he will have to adjust to college.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 09:01 PM) I really don't think Fay is that good. A decent role player maybe. I haven't seen Dillard very much though I hear he is going to be very good. Than you haven't seen Fay play this year.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 03:00 PM) I was mostly saying that because the Buckeyes have literally nobody committed for 2009 but have a top class for 2010. You have to go watch Lenzelle play this year. Hard to believe he is just a junior.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 08:44 PM) NIU playing an awful game tonight against SIU unfortuantely. SIU is going to be awfully good when all of those young guys they have mature and get more experience, because the talent level of the newbies is higher than any I can remember down there. Dillard in particular, I can see why he was Mr. Basketball in the games I have watched them. He is going to be an absolute stud, especially next year when he will be in full control of the show when Mullins is gone. Dillard and Carlton Fay are the future of that program, and I really think they'll both be fantastic players. Wasn't exactly a dominant performance by the Salukis. Dillard is turning the ball over way too much, hopefully he hangs in there, cuz you are right. We had 5 freshmen on the floor at one time tonight. I like Ryan Hare, but he isn't getting to the hole like he did in high school. That will come. Any team with Tony Boyle will struggle though.

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 07:21 PM) I recently switched to a new eye Doctor. Because I'm a new patient there, they want to charge me $65.00 as a 'fitting fee' on top of the price for new contacts. I've been wearing contacts for 15+ years and I'll be ordering the kind I always get. WTF are they fitting? In a year, when this prescription expires, there will be another 'fitting fee'. I felt bad for the woman explaining this to me because even she knows it's BS. I've had vision insurance through work for 3 years and haven't gone to a doctor yet. I definitely will after the holidays though.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 10:16 AM) I still think if the Bulls could trade for Brad Miller, they would probably make the playoffs. I wonder if the Kings would be interested in Noah at all? Worth a shot. Jason Thompson is playing well for them, possibly making Miller expendable.

Thesis / No Thesis
QUOTE (Texsox @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 08:36 AM) More hours of classes. The thesis route is 30 hours with 6 being the thesis itself. So 24 class hours versus 36 class hours. I would still be looking at 2-3 years. Just a lot more time on research and writing. Where I am at for my undergrad, in the M.A. program, only 1 of 25 who graduated took the thesis route. His was about the language that Bush's press secretaries used. The title hinted at the propaganda or b.s. slung by the Press Secretary. LOL sounded interesting to work on. I never went to graduate school but my senior year at SIU, I had the choice of thesis or a big project. I loved doing projects so I went that route. Totally different than your situation. I was awful at writing big papers so I would go the class route, but that is just me.

Official 2008-2009 NFL Thread
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 14, 2008 -> 03:38 PM) I hope the whole offseason isn't a giant b****fest about the Williams Wall not being suspended if the Bears don't make the playoffs. Had the Bears not s*** the bed in Minneapolis (well, and especially at Atlanta and vs. Tampa Bay), none of this would be a problem. While I don't get why they get off scott free, it is clearly not the reason. Bears blew the Tampa, Carolina, and Atlanta games. Plain and simple. If the Bears miss the playoffs, which it looks like they will, they have nobody to blame but themselves. That said, they still have won more games than I ever thought they would this year.
