QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 6, 2005 -> 01:48 PM) Here's a thought... Maybe our offense comes around? I mean, I know we've been relying heavily on our pitching, but maybe the offense finds itself this month...You never know... I think the offense will definitely come around...I also think the pitching will get down to good instead of outf***instanding. Hopefully the two even out and it's enought to keep winning.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 6, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) There is no doubt August is just flat scary. I hope to God we have a 10 game lead going into that month with no injuries, Frank Thomas, and big deadline aquisition. 10 games would make me feel a whole lot better. On the other hand September should be a cake walk if they continue to beat the teams they should beat.

I don't think it's the toughest month we play, but I think this is a big month for the sox to get the mental part of winning out of the way. Some success against powerful hitting teams will make them feel unbeatable. Mental toughness and 'can do' attitude is HUGE. Look at the yankees....Are they losing cause they have no talent?? hell no...they are broken down mentally and it's hard to come back from that. Conversely it's also hard to come down from it. The Sox need that high....they are close to it now...Big Jon is definitely on it now. A couple wins over the big offensive teams will put us on that cloud. Let's go sox!! As for the most physically demanding month I would have to say August. 6 SEA, 6 NYY, 6 MIN, 3 BOS, 3 TEX, 3 TOR, 1 BAL

Welcome White Sox Josh and Congrats on starting your first argument without even saying anything!!

QUOTE(sox-r-us @ May 5, 2005 -> 03:22 PM) We had a lot of this luck during our 2000 campaign. When it mattered though, we did squat. I hope we figure out a way to upgrade/improve on O rather than keep relying on our pitching/breaks to get us wins. I don't want to upgrade...I just want to improve. These guys are capable an they'll start gettin it done. Right now.....I'll take it!! -

QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ May 5, 2005 -> 11:43 AM) Better hope it's unseasonably warm in October. If not, front row seats fopr me. Yes a playoff game in October is the same as a KC game in April...my bad I can always CHOOSE to bundle up and go to any game I want...unless of course you'd be at the gate banishing me from the cell for not getting my 'chill on' back in April. Of course then the talking wouldn't be from a message board. It would be face to face and I have a weird feeling all the attendance bashers wouldn't come off the same way.

QUOTE(daa84 @ May 5, 2005 -> 12:49 AM) if you assholes would actually pay attention and quit criticizing EVERYONE who either 1.) critcizes the white sox or 2.) fails to mention the white sox, then you would know that joe morgan has gone on record a few times since saying he didnt think the white sox would be a factor, but after seeing them he thinks tehy are for real noting how they play the game the right way and are playing with great defense Assholes seems a little harsh don't ya think?? If you don't like a post then go to another topic...why make a post letting us all know you didn't like the post. We don't care...move on... I for one thought it was a good contribution with just enough sarcasm and facts spread throughout.

Honestly, I can careless what anyone says about attendance. My personal view is I ain't paying money to freeze my ass off. The players have to be out there....they are getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to be in that cold....me I have to pay for the right to be in the cold. FUNK THAT!! It's just not fun..and part of the reason I go to the game is to have fun and watch the sox win. So if Kruk's fat ass wants to cry like someone took away his donut...and people on this board want to cry about....go for it...I ain't losing sleep. The players know how cold it is....and I gurantee there ain't a chance in hell they would be watching a game in that weather if they didn't have to. I'm sure they appreciate the diehards, but they ain't knocking the people that don't want to freeze.

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ May 3, 2005 -> 10:21 AM) You beat me too the punch. That is her MO. Two white guys could be arguing over whoe gets to change the channel ont he TV and she would find someway to spin it that the situation is racisit because black people cant afford TVs. When I flip through the Sun-Times I skip over her immediatly. I have no interest in people like that. I read her just to see what drivol she has trumped up.
-
Mitchell is such a racebaiter!! Let's take the side of the drunk, waitress harrassing, out of control patron that punches walls and screams into a security officers face over the word of the Chicago Police. You wonder why race relations are the way they are. If this is an out of control white patron(which Im sure happens all the time) this isn't even a story, but because the guy was black...you claim racism.
-
Since there is all this drug stuff going on...can we get Contreras and El Duque on some coke or something. Those guys need to speed it up... It is painful to watch the sox when they are pitching...It seriously ruins the game for me...I can imagine what it does to the players in the field.

Twins player suspended for Roids
Controlled Chaos replied to southsideirish71's topic in The Diamond Club
Ah yes....10 games will be just fine...he will be shunned from the team. The embarrasment is punishment enough. He will be ridiculed in baseball circles. oops my bad...he gets to practice with the team the whole time.... Setlik said he believed Rincon, 26, will be allowed to work out with the team during the suspension, but once the games start he's prohibited from being in uniform and cannot be in the clubhouse. -

He will be releasing a statement any time now with the standard response of "I bought it at the store, I didn't know it was bad" and that's it. 10 days go by and he will be back pitching again. I think it's bulls*** that the 'real' punishment is suppose to be their reputation. That's bulls***...GM's don't care about reps...If the dude can get saves someone will pay him. If the guy hits home runs...someone will pay him. I want consequences such as Seligs new proposal. That could be in effect for the next couple years to get things cleaned up. Then by 2007 it should be caught once you're out an entire season, caught twice you are done. -

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) One is simply a personal statement about herself. Personally, I wouldn't have a prob with the abortion t-shirt and I'm pro-choice. Abortion is Murder is simply a personal statement on how you feel...they are one in the same to me... Is it officially legal to wear an 'Abortion is Murder' pin to school?? yeah it probably is...Is it appropriate...No. Is it legal to wear 'I (heart) my vagina' or I support your vagina' t-shirt yeah it probably is...is it appropriate....No. Common sense is all I ask...
-
I bet this don't happen. It wouldn't be fun to join in and would hardly warrant any outside attetntion. If the students wore pins and Tshirts that said "Abortion is Murder" how many of you would be standing up for their free speach rights? Some things just don't belong in school...

That had to be some pretty bad head...

Can someone explain why this was such a highly contested battle?? What's the big deal?

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 09:16 AM) only allows 50 movies for free, but thanks Oh I can fix that little problem. If you want it PM me..if not no biggie.
-
QUOTE(mreye @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 11:44 AM) What would be the problem with that. It's their free speech right to wear that shirt. Not all peni (haha...is that the correct plural form?) love vagina's. So therefore it would be offending some people and the ACLU would have to get involved again.
