May 5, 200520 yr I want to personally take my hat off to Joe Morgan, prognosticator of prognosticator, who said kicking off the season that he felt that Detroit and Cleveland had the talent to make it a tough three-way race with Minnesota all season. Sure enough, Cleveland proved tonight that they definitely belong in the picture. They hung right with the twins and then beat them in the ninth. W L GB Minnesota 15 11 - Detroit 12 14 3 Cleveland 11 15 4 Mr. Morgan didn't go as far to mention what place the three teams would be fighting it out for, but because he was so prescient I'm going to go ahead and just assume he meant second place. Of course he didn't bother mentioning the White Sox in that particular broadcast, despite the fact that very team was facing Minnesota that very night....although I'm sure that was just a mental slip. Lord knows he had too much to think about that night, such as why Craig Biggio or any other second baseman doesn't belong in the hall of fame, and what the Giants and Padres were up to while he was being bothered to be in the midwest for a couple of hours. Anyway, kudos to Joe for the sharp analysis. Look for this race to heat up as the season moves along! Edited May 5, 200520 yr by Hideaway Lights
May 5, 200520 yr Can we seriously stop talking about ESPN! PLEASE! s*** I dont care if we never get mentioned on ESPN as long as we keep winning.
May 5, 200520 yr Same guy who said the Athletics lost in the playoffs because they didn't bunt enough. I can stand Jon Miller, but Morgan -- yuck. IMHO, of course.

May 5, 200520 yr All this lack of coverage makes me wonder what will happen to this team once the media shows up. I know we have mostly veterans, but I'm still curious.

May 5, 200520 yr QUOTE(WilliamTell @ May 5, 2005 -> 03:00 PM) I'm wondering the same thing. Maybe Ozzie can go on another tirade to take the focus and stress off of the players and back on him...........nah, that might be giving Oz too much credit.
