I ran into a cop like this guy. I was approcahcing the toll booth at an on ramp and I saw just a little bit ahead a cop had someone pulled over. It wasn't a state trooper it was a Woodridge cop. The person he had pulled over was pulling away as I was paying my toll and the cop was still sitting on the right side with his lights on. I paid my toll and he was still sitting there. I was going slow as I approached next to him cause I figured he was going to start driving and merge over, but I was like what the heck he isn't moving, so I started going to go past him....then he starts going...so I stop. Then he stops. Then we're both just sitting there and he isn't moving...So I figure he wants me to go...since I am on the ramp and he is on the shoulder....So I start to go again and then he starts to go...I'm thinking WTF....so I just wave him to go like thru my windshield and he sticks his hand out of the car and waves for me to go...so I go and he gets behind me and pulls me over. He's like whats your f***in problem boy. I'm like I dont have a problem sir...I just didn't know if you were still sitting on the side doing paper work or if you were going to start driving and merge in. He's like I have my lights on...you always yield to me. Don't you know the f***in rules of the road. I was like I do, but I didn't know if you were just sitting there, I'm sorry for the confusion. He's like you f***in wave me on? What the f*** do you think this is...you don't wave me...I'm a police officer...you yield to me at all times. Then a state trooper pulls up and they get out of the car. The state trooper walks up and the dick cop is like...We got ourselves a little punk here who doesn't know how to f***in yield to a police car. Then he tells me to get out of the car. And that state trooper is like...is that right boy? Do you have trouble seeing the flashing lights?? and I'm like no it's just.... Then the dick cop gets right up in my face and is like I should haul your ass in right now....I'm like I didn't do anything...I'm sorry, but I wasn't sure if you were going to pull out or not... Then another Woodridge cop pulls up. Now I'm thinking wtf.....I didn't do anything....I got 4 fricken cops here. The dick cop tells his new buddy the same thing....This punk doesn't know the rules of the road...blah blah blah. And I just want to be like...look dickhead you were just sitting there on the side....you could have sat there for 5 minutes....what was I suppose to do guess when you were gonna pull out?? So anyway the new cop is like should we take him in...and i'm thinking wtf did I do, this is nuts. Then the state troopers are like we're out of here....teach him a lesson. Then the dick cop tells me to go sit in my car while he decides what to do with me. Him and the other cop are sitting back there for 15 minutes. I'm sittin in my car like....wtf...I just want to go to work.....Then dick head came back and was like I'm letting you off with a warning. If I ever catch you again though....I'll come up with all kinds of s*** to put on your record asshole. Get the f*** outta here and pray you don't run in to me again. I was like Jesus...is it a rule if you're a teenager cops have to f*** with you. There is no way that cop would treat an older person like that. It's like they feel they have the power to f*** with someone.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 21, 2007 -> 11:26 AM) Very true. So here are the values for the prospective players over the last 3 seasons, averaged (with 2005/2006/2007 in parens): Hunter: .523 (.519/.507/.542) Age: 32 Furcal: .483 (.511/.519/.420) Age: 30 Rowand: .479 (.441/.452/.545) Age: 30 Renteria: .469 (.416/.475/.516) Age: 32 DeJesus: .462 (.453/.484/.448) Age: 27 Eckstein: .409 (.435/.384/.407) Age: 32 That definitely changes the order around. Hunter out on top, Furcal looking a lot better, and younger. Rowand pretty good still. Renteria not as spectacular. Eckstein still sucks. Fields at .468 falls right in the middle of the pack so that's promising. Especially considering this is his first year and will hardly be his best year. -

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 21, 2007 -> 10:35 AM) We luuuuuv it when you analyze. On the surface, I think this is a good "guide" to at least get a measuring stick of how a player produces offensively. I wonder, though, if some way to incorporate runs scored would matter here? Ultimately, that's what matters - if a guy walks, did he get home? Does it matter, or does it make it so convoluded that it doesn't matter? Yeah, I don't know if the guy scoring, is of any value in what Northside is trying to accomplish. Well done NS. -
Liberals: Funding Our Destruction By Kevin McCullough Sunday, September 9, 2007 Though they have a hard time recognizing it or even admitting it, liberals in America, are sowing the seeds for the future annihilation of America as we know it. I say they have a hard time recognizing it, because when conservatives validate such theories, liberals like Los Angeles based talk show host Stephanie Miller makes a joke of it when opposing me on CNN. She said that she "like most Democrats, want to be killed by a terrorist." They're dismissive, derisive, and instead of answering the substance - they resort to snorting at those of us who make the observation. They go to great lengths to defend the New York Times, who told Al Qaeda of our counter terrorism methods regarding the listening in on their phone calls, and the sniffing out and freezing of their money supplies. The liberals in my city - New York - are at it again, but what you do not realize is that this time, they are forcing us to not only tolerate the scheme but forcing you to cough open your wallet to help fund it. How? By using federal as well as municipal tax-dollars [/url]to open, operate, and secure an Islamic Madrassa in Brooklyn cleverly disguised as a public school. New York City has whined and complained about Homeland Security funds, but who in Washington D.C. could really justify putting two vans worth of extra police on security detail for a school this small? The great con is that liberal Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his Democratic lackey NYC Schools Chancellor Joel Klein are out spreading the lie that their is no religious influence or indoctrination occurring at the school. So the tax-payers held their breath to see if Klein and Bloomberg were telling the truth. They weren't! The first lesson on the first day, of the first week of the new school year for the fifty-seven students that are attending the madrassa was a guest lecture by Imam Al-Hajj Talib Abdur-Rashid, of the Mosque of Islamic Brotherhood in Harlem. No religious instruction? But the first lesson is by an Islamic religious leader? And the subject of his first lesson: "Jihad!" So you have a religious leader, teaching on one of the most controversial doctrines of the Islamic faith on the very first day, who could have guessed? But this wasn't the first sign of trouble. Midway through the summer the woman tapped to be principal of the tax-payer funded madrassa, Debbie Almontaser, suggested that perhaps the way the school could raise funds to help with additional programs (you know the junior suicide bombers of America) could be to sell t-shirts that announced an "Intifada" in New York. Thinking we were all as daft as Democratic Congressional delegations she explained that it did not mean what we think it means. Within a day or so my listeners had delivered thousands of phone calls to the city council, most were rebuffed. It was only after Almontaser was discovered to have direct ties to members of Hamas and Hezbollah that she was finally relieved of her duties. Considering that one of the doctrines of Islam allows Muslims to lie to anybody and everyone we should not be surprised that they would say one thing to our face and then flip into Arabic and begin the brainwashing cycle of the next generation. Islamic scholar Robert Spencer indicated on my show a week ago that Muslims who claim not to practice jihad fall in one of two categories. 1)They are bad muslims not as fully committed to their faith as they should be, or 2)They are practicing Islam as it is allowed when Islam is the minority in the nation. They are allowed to lie to, and even cooperate with, the culture long enough for Islam to take root and then spring to fundamentalism when the numbers are in their favor. Daniel Pipes in writing for the New York Sun this week also outlined the troubling scenario of previous Muslim school settings on American soil being used to advance radical Islam and pan-Arab nationalism. Why Bloomberg, Klien, and liberals in general are such stooges for the Islamic shuck and jive is little beyond comprehension. Islamic scholars like Spencer, and Dr. Ergun Canor, have long pointed out that the Islamic experience is, not akin to, nor compatible with the American mainstream. In Arabic society and culture there is no distinction between the mosque, the school, the house of government, the home, or the courts - it is all Islamic. All of the systems are centered around the teachings of the religion. And when the religion is as big of a fraud as Islam is, tight control must be maintained over every aspect of life. So when liberals speak of tolerance for Islamic instruction, what they mean is, "let's let them convert the mind, bodies, and souls of the next generation." No wonder Osama spoke with such high praise for the Democrats in his video this week. I would like to see every American that reads this column to dial this number 202.224.3121 next week and demand that Congress rescind all federal education dollars alotted to the New York City public schools until this madrassa is closed. Call several times a day. Call several days this next week. Call your Congressional House members and your United States Senators. Britain is presently looking to expand the number of Muslim schools its tax-payers will fund. The foolish thinking there is like those of the American left, "give them what they want and they will be nice to us." 100% WRONG! It is the goal of Islamic society, faith, education, and law to convert the world to Sharia rule and it is their commitment to wage jihad until such occurs. In light of this I find it repulsive that liberals can be so naive so as to insist that we pay for that coming destruction out of our pocketbooks today... And its time to say so!

2 students shot at Delaware State By RANDALL CHASE, Associated Press Writer 3 minutes ago DOVER, Del. - Two students were shot and wounded, one seriously, at Delaware State University early Friday, and the campus was locked down as police searched for a gunman, officials said. Classes were canceled for the day and students were being kept inside. "They've been directed to stay in their dorms," said Carlos Holmes, a university spokesman. "We don't know where the shooter's at." At the university's main entrance, swing-arm gates were down to prevent people from driving onto campus. The students were shot near the Memorial Hall gymnasium around 1 a.m., according to a news release on the university's Web site. Holmes said the female student appeared to have suffered serious wounds. "They could be potentially life-threatening," he said. The male student's wounds were not as serious and he was in stable condition at a hospital, Holmes said. Police hoped to find out more information once the victims were able to talk. "We haven't had a chance to talk to them yet, and that's probably a big reason why the suspect is still at large," Holmes told KYW-TV of Philadelphia. Students were instructed to stay in their residence halls until further notice, and nonessential university employees were told not to report to work. University officials informed students about the shooting with phone calls, a notice posted on the campus Web site and notifications in each dormitory. Holmes said Delaware State had improved the speed of its notifications following the shootings in April at Virginia Tech. The Dover campus was surrounded Friday by groups of recreational vehicles belonging to NASCAR fans in town for this weekend's races at the Dover Downs Speedway. At the start of the fall semester, the campus community held a memorial service for three students and an incoming student shot execution-style Aug. 4 as they hung out at an elementary school in their hometown of Newark, N.J. Natasha Aeriel, 19; her brother, Terrance Aeriel, 18, and Dashon Harvey, 20, were students. Iofemi Hightower, 20, had planned to attend Delaware State this fall. Natasha Aeriel, the only survivor, helped police identify six suspects who have been arrested. Delaware State was established in 1891 as the State College for Colored Students. It had about 3,690 students last year. The 400-acre campus is in the northern section of Dover, across the street from the racetrack.

I don't have a problem with either course of action. If you're resisting arrest, you deserve what you get. When my dad was a cop he used to have these leather gloves with lead in the knuckles....He had to use them many times to subdue someone he was arresting. -

Fantasy Football trade possible veto?
Controlled Chaos replied to Steve9347's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Yeah people misuse the veto all the time. I had guys in my league veto a trade of mine a couple years ago, because I was playing one of them that upcoming week and was in 2nd place at the time. The trade was dead even. The two players had scored the exact amount of points to date. But those two guys got two of their other friends and they all veto the trade. I was like WTF...There is nothing unfair about that trade. and they said....yeah well you need a WR and I'm playing you...so I don't want you to get one and get better. I'm like that is not what the veto is for. And they said...well there is no rule against doing what we did. I was like a fair trade getting veto'd just to stop a team from getting better? That has never ever happened. That's just bad sportsmanship. You don't try to win by hurting another team. I think it was Tonya Harding who tried that and look where she ended up. I can't beat this person, so let me break her leg. Charles Martin tried it with Jimmy Mac and now Martin's dead. No there isn't a specific rule against it. There shouldn't have to be. I just don't believe in hurting another team as a way to improve yours. If the players being traded are fair, then the trade is fair and that is the bottom line. The veto is only there so like one team that sucks and is in last palce...doens't trade his buddy his best players for a coupe of scrubs or something. I mean the veto should hardly have to be used because most teams are trading and receiving players they want. Now I personally think you fleeced the guy on the trade. Eli has been a top 10 fantasy QB. For all the flack the guy gets, he puts up consistent fantasy numbers every year. Him and Rivers if anything are pretty equal. A-Johnson > J. Walker in my book, but they are also pretty equal...definitely not a step down. When Jones comes back, Bell will split carries as does LenDale White now, but Bell is in a prolific offense and has a better chance to score and if you get ppr he is even more valuable. And I don't even need to discuss Bears D over Dallas. So basically all things are pretty equal except Bears D and Dallas D. That being said, there is no way a trade like this should be veto'd. Every trade has winners and losers. Thats what its about and the commish shouldn't be the guy to decide who that is. The only time a trade should be veto'd is if it's blatantly unfair and there is some scheming goin on. -

Southwest Flight Attendant Tries to Boot Hooters Waitress From Plane Over Clothing Friday, September 07, 2007 Kyla Ebbert A 23-year-old college student claimed Friday that Southwest Airlines singled her out after a male flight attendant told her that her white denim miniskirt, high-heel sandals and sweater over a tank top was too "revealing." Southwest Airlines stands behind that flight attendant's decision two months ago to confront Kyla Ebbert, who also works as Hooters waitress in downtown San Diego, after complaints from another employee about Ebbert's choice of clothing. "He told me my outfit was too provocative, too revealing for a family airline," Ebbert told FOX News, appearing in the same outfit she wore on the flight."He told me that I needed to go to the gift shop and buy a new outfit and change and get on a later flight." Ebbert then pulled down her skirt, tightened her sweater over her tank top and wrapped up in a blanket in her seat. "I was humiliated," Ebbert said. Southwest defended the employee's decision. "We don't feel like our employee was in the wrong," Chris Mainz, a spokesman for Southwest Airlines, told FOXNews.com. "Our employee addressed the situation with the customer and they were able to find a compromise." Mainz said another employee approached the flight attendant with objections to Ebbert's outfit. The flight attendant then brought those concerns to Ebbert and asked her to adjust her clothes to be less revealing. A photo of what Ebbert was wearing appeared in a column in the San Diego Union-Tribune. "Based on reports by employees, it was very similar," Mainz said about the clothing worn by Ebbert in the photo. "It does seem to fit the description." Ebbert said she was lightly dressed after a same-day trip to Tucson, Ariz., and back for a doctor's appointment. The weather forecast called for temperatures between 100 and 110 that day. "I was dressed appropriately for the middle of the summer," Ebbert said.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Sep 7, 2007 -> 12:58 PM) Out of curiousity, where would people stand if this story invovled someone assaulting the senator for peaking through the cracks? and by assaulting, I mean punching him right in the face. if you shouldn't get arrested for being a perv, you shouldn't get arrested for kicking that perv's ass. just, my humble opinion. Well if I saw someone staring through the crack of the stall I would just be like "Hey buddy, I'm a little busy here, can I help you with something?" Now if that guy whipped out his joint or something, then I would think it is well within my rights to pop him. Now aside from the fact about the senator and whether it's right or wrong or whatever... WTF is wrong with the people that are into this? Is there a more disgusting thing than a public restroom? Let alone meeting an absolute total stranger and engaging in sexual activities in one?? Isn't it better to just go to a bar and maybe pick someone you're attracted too? I mean there are some f***ed up things that I have trouble figuring out, and I gotta say..this ranks right up there.

Halloween A work print of this came out this past weekend. It has a watermark at the top that says 'property of dimension films', but is supposedly good quality. Not my kind of movie, but some of you on here seem to be diehard fans, so I though you might be interested. From what I read the workprint has some differences from the theater release. Most notably the ending has been completely changed.
