  1. Oops I thought he was still on florida, where Benitez will close.. Nevermind
  2. Same thing I offered Heads.. (Pick one of the following three) Izzy Rhodes or Nen --- should be healthy by start of season for Clemens
  3. hmmm... you don't have any closers. There must be a trade in the works
  4. Yeah the late round were really fun for me... 16. Nick Johnson 17. Edwin Jackson 18. Artur Rhodes 19. Corey Patterson 20. Juan Gonzalez 21. Jody Gerut 22. Shingo - Although he disappeared now.
  5. Where'd shingo go? I still want him.... I would have dropped cotts... I only picked him to make steff mad.
  6. Good young outfield... I'd take Schmidt or Loiaza of your hands if you needed a reliever... If I can get that shingo thing fixed.... Even if I can't I found another good one everyone forgot.
  7. Hey steve go look at my team... Shingo disappeared... Click the link on the right that says draft results... I took him in the 22nd round... it says "empty" WTF!?!??!!?!

    hey wuzzup

them clones did a nice impression of a doormat today in Lubbock
  9. After Carefully studying my team I think that was the best draft I've ever had... Before I've loaded up on pitching with hopes that I could trade for everything else. But my line-up features, with the exception of Klesko and Damon(who are both definately available, since they'd probably be riding the pine on my team) No one who batted lower than .275 last season. There may not be too much power, but everone's got some. I expect 8 guys to hit at least 25 bombs. I have a bunch of team speed (something I usually overlook), and that's valuable because 3B's and SB's are both stats. My pitching staff, which features no one who won more than 14 games last season, isn't near as bad as I had originally thought. I have three guys who will break camp as their teams closer, and as early as a month into the season I could have 5 GOOD closers ) All pitchers have good K/BB ratios, and relatively small ERA's. I drafted a bunch of guys who were either hurt last season, young, or splitting time, so they didn't have the biggest numbers, but should produce more this season. N. Johnson - split time C. Patterson - injured J. Gonzalez - injured Klesko - split time/ injury J. Gerut - split time/ young (should improve) A. Berroa - young (should improve) S. Podsednik - young(should improve) The names on offense I didn't name were on the all-star team last year. D. Willis - young - didn't play full season, though I think he may have a little bit of a down season. hittters may figure him out A. Rhodes - didn't close last season - Billy Beane makes him worth more in Oakland E. Jackson - Proved he belongs in the bigs last year. future NL rookie of the year??? I'd Like a top of the rotation starter but unless the right deal comes along I think I'll be standing pat.
  10. The white sox don't have any talent, remember. Sutcliffe said as much.
  11. Sounds like everyone is pitching well so far this ST
  12. Good draft everyone... I think AssHat was the star of the draft, making plenty of really nice picks. I'm very jealous.
  13. YASNY, it's odd to see you on at a normal hour.
  14. All it takes is about a half hours worth of set up time.... there's really not much more mork than being a regular team.
  15. I've got money on Rauch. I think he's got the best chance to succeed this season at the major league level.
  16. Reddy my advice is to go ahead and start one, with a draft right before opening day... You be the commish... I'm sure if it's not already filled up by the time the draft is near, the more-active posters will come to its rescue and fill it up.
  17. :finger ----------------------- I'm going to send out an email on Monady to remind everyone... I changed some of the stats... Hitting - R, HR, RBI, SB, BB, E, AVG Pitching - W, L, CG, SV, K, ERA, WHIP
  18. The Bears aren't shopping the Train... I've never stated that. FACT
  19. I know there has been quite a riot from all you people wanting to get a glimpse of our big FA signing ...... So without further delay.... I bring you.... Kelly Dransfeldt
  20. I haven't seen the cubs/sox series in person since 2000.... the last three years I've been out of town on vacation.
  21. NO not stupid hippies... Over the past 20+ years the MPG rating of all passenger vehicles has gone down. The government will quote you statistics otherwise, but they hold all those damn SUV's that only run to the grocery store and back as Trucks and aren't required to meet the same standards. The SUV/truck market is now greater than that of cars. The result is the overall fuel efficiency of all vehicles has actually declined. What's the reason for this. Government didn't have the balls to stand up to the oil and auto industries. Clinton had plans in place, and was slated to rush them through in the last months of his presidency, but talks with the Auto industry, and the Gore, who also supported it, but wanted it as a back-burner issue, waited as to not damage Gore presedential campaign. When Gore recieved more votes than bush and lost the election, The auto industry had a new oil friendly regime in office. The plans Clinton had were scrapped. New plans that actually rewarded the purchase of large vehicles were put in place (the tax credit for vehicles over certain weight). The possibilty was in place in the late nineties to produce cars that got in excess of 75 MPG. All three major american auto makers were involved in a program to see who could make the most cost effective fuel efficient car. GM Precept - And not one of those tiny asian model cars, an actual 5 passenger luxury style automobile that would get 80 MPG. The result of the crushing of the federal funding for this program is that the American Auto makers have essentially scrapped all operations on the projects. The foriegn auto makers (honda, Toyota) already have efficient hybrid MPG cars on the market... In five years, if nothing is done about the price of gas, we are all going to be complaining about 1) The price of the american Hybrid cars 2) The reliability of the American hybrid cars 3) How come the Foriegn models are cheaper/less prone to failure/ and more fuel efficient than the American models And ultimately you'll see the Government come have to step in a rescue the struggling US atuomakers who failed to see the writing on the wall... The Chicago tribune had a three part article on this a couple years back... Great read. I think it was around the time of the auto show... back then you went on thier website and typed "supercar" and you'd get the link... now when you type supercar. is this - a V-12 engine car that will rival ferrari's enzo. That's great.
