  1. Duvall also has won the Gold Glove. Miami practically gave him away. Where was Hahn while the Braves were making all these OF acquisitions on the cheap?
  2. I beg to differ that Vaughn had an impressive 2021. His performance with RISP was certainly not impressive.
  3. Good thing about Duvall besides his 38 homers last season, is that he has the highest fly ball hitting rate in MLB , over 53%. Sox needs that in our homer friendly park, and to balance our high ground / double play hitting guys.
  4. At least we will not have Goodwin patrolling RF next season.
  5. Hahn should be in the running for worst GM of the season.
  6. Doubling down on the original mistake of trading for him in the first place, when we already had a closer and needed a RF instead.
  7. Should we change the name of the team to the Chicago Cuban Sox? If we add Soler to Abreu, Moncada, Grandal and Robert, we would have a majority of 5 Cubans in our starting line up.⚾️????
  8. I was only arguing for only one of the three (Duvall, Rosario or Soler) for RF mid season acquisition to add more pop and stabilize our RF merry go round.
  9. Also Soler is certainly better defensively than Goodwin. And a 40 homer candidate at our hitter friendly park.
  10. The scrap heap Braves outfielders led the Braves to a World Series win. Duvall had the highest fly ball hitting rate in the majors plus 38 homers, a great need for the Sox. He was traded by the Marlins for a journeyman catcher. Soler had 48 homers two seasons ago. Rosario can play RF and is a lefty. The Braves scrap heap outfielders defense can’t be much worse than Goodwin, Sheets or Vaughn’s defense. The cost of these outfielders were lower than Bryant or Marte.
  11. Hahn gets an F on RF. Soler, Duvall, Rosario andPerderson, all acquired by Atlanta mid season can play RF are better than all on the list above. They were all obtained on the cheap.
  12. Right on, if our FO would have gone for Soler or even Duvall, instead of Kimbrel, we probably move on to the WS. Braves won scoring a lot runs and many homers, many from the newly acquired Soler, Duvall and Rosario. Astros pitching turned out to be mediocre after all. Kimbrel pitched one inning in the postseason. Think we should go for the three headed monster of Eloy, Robert, and Soler in 2022.
  13. Jorge Soler just hit a monster 3 run homer in game 6 of the WS. Man, Soler would have looked great at RF for the Sox. Imagine the three headed monster of Eloy, Robert and Soler. Soler hit 48 homers in KC a couple of years ago. I am sure he would have been cheaper than Kimbrel. Our FO dropped the ball on our RF need.
  14. Won’t happen with 20th century mgr TLR. It is also a TLR unwritten rule to shift.
  15. They must have been dumping salary.
  16. These A- ratings are a bad joke. TLR may get an A for clubhouse harmony but certainly not for in game managerial decisions. With the Sox talent most any MLB manager would have been successful. Hahn cannot get an A for the stupid Kimbrel trade and not bringing in a competent RF at trade deadline like Atlanta did with 4 very good outfielders.
  17. Adam Duvall just hit a grand slam in game 5 of the World Series. He hit 38 homers during the season. He was acquired from the Marlins mid season for a journeyman catcher. He would have looked pretty good in RF for the Sox. While our FO was having wet dreams with Kimbrel, Atlanta was picking up 4 good outfielders relatively cheap: Duvall, Soler, Pederson and Eddie Rosario ( hitting 426 in the postseason). Great job Hahn!
  18. I liked that he didn’t strike out much and put the ball in play when we needed contact.
  19. Happy to see Stan Bowman finally leave as Blackhawks GM after 10 years. Could we also see Hahn joining Bowman in a Greyhound bus out of town with a one way ticket, picking up TLR on the way as well. Hahn really screwed up mid season acquisitions and TLR threw in the towel on HFA , over did the resting, and mismanaged in game decisions. Sox had a .500 record the second half of the season with our big guys back during most of that period. Somebody needs to be accountable.
  20. As far as the Braves are concerned , their front office did a much better job in mid season acquisitions than the Sox FO. Four players in their World Aeries starting line up are very effective Mid season acquisitions, and all can play RF: Adam Duvall, Eddie Rosario, Joc Petersen and Jorge Soler. We could have used anyone of them for our RF position. Our FO dropped the ball adding relievers and no RF, which were available and affordable. The proof is in the pudding with Atlanta in theWorld Series and the Soxplayinggolfand watching TV at home.
  21. We sure could have used Narváez, Semien and Avi this season. They would have covered our weaker spots at defensive catcher, 2B and RF.
  22. Another guy our FO may have missed is ALDS MVP Astros Yordan Alvarez, a Cuban defector. Thought we had these type of guys cornered with Abreu and others. This guy is pretty awesome hitter and a lefty. He was signed by the Dodgers and traded to the Astros, which LA admits now was a mistake.
  23. Braves out performed the Sox FO this season, trading for Jorge Soler, Joc Pederson, Eddie Rosario and Adam Duvall. We could have used just one of those four for our RF need. Wished we would have traded For Rosario with Cleveland instead of Cesar. Rosario is hitting a ton in the NLDS.
  24. Probably dumping salary. Sox could have offered more for Duvall. But I am sure our FO was drooling over getting Kimbrel from the Cubs, and took their eyes off the ball of the more important need for a RF position player.
  25. Watching DodgersBraves game 4 th game. Adam Duvall hit a home run, sacrifice fly, and robbed Lux of a homer in CF. Imagine if we would have traded for Duvall with the Marlins, instead of Kimbrel, with his 38 homers and 53% fly ball rate highest in the majors, playing RF on an everyday basis, instead of Goodwin, Leury, Vaughn and/or Sheets. We need to make better trades!
