  1. Particularly against the better teams and elite pitching, when we can’t hide our flaws.
  2. Collins - Garcia defensive pairing is Minor league. Appears Abreu -Collins defensive pairing is also sub par. Sox are looking like a AAA team or worse tonight.
  3. Cancel the postgame press conference. Too bad Abreu overran second base. Not our day so far. Well at least we got a hit.
  4. Leury is an adequate part time utility guy not meant to be playing every game.
  5. But Burnes have gotten strike calls on at least 2 balls out of the zone. At this rate, the Sox may be shutout tonight. Hope I am wrong.
  6. Particularly against elite pitching. We have too many AAA type hitters in the line up nowadays with lack of plate discipline.
  7. Horrible Keystone cops type defense unworthy of a first place team on the 2nd inning. Dodged a bullet. Could have been 4-0 now.
  8. At least every breaking pitch. Most would be unhittable anyway.
  9. Nonetheless, Vaughn had the best at bat so far. Worked the count well.
  10. Stoney said he had problems with the sun/shadows while warming up.
  11. He is OK. Just got ambushed on a mediocre bad location fastball first pitch. In hindsight a slider would have been a better choice against the lefty.
  12. Location was bad to a lefty. Home run zone.
  13. Will need to jump on his fast ball and avoid swinging at the breaking stuff off the plate. Easier said than done.
  14. TLR is obsessive about lefties facing righties no matter what. At least Goodwin is not hitting cleanup like he previously did for several games.
  15. First time since 2011 according to Benetti.
  16. We should start Sheets tomorrow instead of Engel. We need more pop in the lineup against Brewers top righties, even if we give up some D.
  17. That was answered. He should have been taken out after the requisite 3 hitters, but not for Burr. 6 runs in that inning was the result.
  18. Yes indeed. Our 1-4 hitters were 0-15 tonight, that combined with Bummer-Burr pitching did us in tonight.
  19. One way is to score more runs to have a bigger margin of error for our relievers, and allow us to bring in some of the least reliable relievers.
  20. I only asked for Kopech in a close game against an elite team like the Brewers to show we can be competitive against possible playoff opposition. Don’t pitch him against the weaker teams...
  21. Would not have been out of reach if we would have brought in Kopech instead of Bummer and particularly Burr.
  22. It is pity, why get so worked up in a 7-0 game and risk suspension.
  23. This game shows that we have problems beating good teams with good pitching. And that we are lucky we are in the worst division in MLB. I see Detroit now as the main competition in the division.
  24. You cannot bring in Burr in a close game. Second time recently which he has been blown out. Kopech, Hendriks and occasionally Crochet are our only reliable relievers to bring into close games. Burr shouldbe sent to Charlotte tonight on a one way ticket on Greyhound.
  25. Why wasn’t Kopech in this game.? We can’t expect to win a close game with Burr pitching.
