Hit into two more double plays today. Need to hit and run more. Put the defense in more motion. Get our hitters to focus better. We are not hitting homers so we need to play more small ball whether we like it or not.

Rodon start should not have been wasted with this AAA lineup and the brutal heat. Should have been a bullpen or AAA pitcher game. KC lineup was substantially better than our line up today.

You are right. We miss him getting the ball in play, minimum strikeouts and .300 hitting..

KC has some good position players like Merriwether, Benintendi, Soler and Salvador Perez who can put the hurt on you. Their main weakness is starting pitching, but we can’t even hit their high ERA starters.

Hendriks did not use his slider and his flat fast ball against the middle of KC lineup was not effective tonight.

His fastball is better than Hendrik’s with more movement.

Yoan however did not come through tonight in the 10th when he had a man in scoring position and struck out.

That was on Moncada. Maybe should have tried bunting, but we had Hamilton protecting Moncada instead of Vaughn.

And another forgotten blunder was to challenge home run hitter Salvador Perez with a fast ball in the 9 th. Where was Hendriks slider?

Our outfield defense has been horrible and is costing us games.

TA has forgotten that as a lead off hitter he has to work some counts. Should try to go the other way as well. Every time he pulls the ball he hits a ground to 3rd. He has not been setting the table for anyone.

And Vaughn gets taken out in the 9 th in a one run game with possibility of extras.

He had to make contact with man on 2 nd in the 10 th with no outs and not swing on sliders not in the zone. Not a quality effort. Had no protection either as Vaughnwas stupidly taken out in the 9 th.

Burr throws a strike in the middle of the plate on a 0-2 count and with first base open as well. Can’t win games with this many poor decisions, poor defense and poor late relief, taking Vaughn out, and no production from your big guns and our crappy manager. A deadly chemical concoction exploding in our face.

Moncada horrible at bat and not having Vaughn in the game doomed us in the 10 th. Our hitters don’t put the ball in play when we need it. Now we have to rely on Burr who has been horrible. Not good.

Agree a bunt would have been better. Our “stars” in this game TA, Abreu, and Moncada have been a bust a bust in this game. Taking our best hitter currently Vaughn out may have cost us this game. Hamilton hitting in Vaughn spot is a major downgrade.

Vaughn would have looked much better.

Glad that Goodwin was not at CF on the last KC drive.

What I feared, game tied and our best hitter Vaughn is out of the line up. TLR at work again.

TLR prefers to take Vaughn out and leave Leury in, on a 2-1 game in the 9th. Doesn’t make sense to me. Hope we don’t go into extras.

Abreu has been in a big rut. No hits in this series. It has been mostly Ks or ground balls on the infield. TA and him have not delivered in this series so far.

Will be in a rut until he goes back to hitting to the opposite field.

Why is Leury still in RF on a 2-1 game in the 8th?
