  1. Double plays are killing the Sox in this game(and other games in the past). Need to try more steals and HIT & RUNS,and not just stand at first like a sitting duck. We just hit too many ground balls.
  2. Need to hit and run more. We are a ground ball hitting team. Hit and runs move the defense and open more holes. It is worth a try risking one out and not a DP, particularly with a fast runner at first.
  3. Collins has been the worse first round pick of the decade.
  4. Looks like our guys rather pitch or walk Polanco than facingCruz.
  5. We are also hitting into too many double plays. Abreu is leading the league in double plays hit. Would like to see more hit and runs with Abreu at the plate and fast runners like TA, Engel and Moncada at first.
  6. Cease is currently our least dependable starter.
  7. Need more focus and killer instinct like Hendriks.
  8. Wow! Polanco homers again, off Heuer a 3 run shot, all three runners with 2 outs. Our bullpen other than Kopech, Bummer at times and Hendriks have been from unreliable to bad.
  9. What were his stats in Charlotte? I can’t imagine his catching defense is worse than Collins.
  10. TLR is a traditionalist. Shift is not old school. It is “disrespectful” to the traditions of the game. I guess that is Tony’s thinking on shifting. Actually the old timers want to ban the shift.
  11. Particularly against our high octane pitching.
  12. Good outfield defensive replacement late, and pinch runner, and good clubhouse presence. Good to keep if we have the space available.
  13. He should have brought Vaughn to the dish earlier for Collins against the lefty with the bases loaded and one out, and we may have won the game then. Burr should not have pitched the 8th, Bummer should have come in to face Polanco. Offense bails out TLR late again.
  14. TLR has been awful this series. His management of the bullpen has been atrocious. Where was Bummer against Polanco? Burr in the 8 th ina one run game? Not pinch hitting for Collins against the lefty with the bases loaded. Not bringing in Hendricks in game situation in extras yesterday. Pitching Lopez and Foster in the second game. This is a Rentería like performance.
  15. Agree. Collins should have been pinched hit for against the lefty.
  16. Sometimes we forget that DK is a Cy Young award winner.
  17. Funny thing is that Seby hit 20 homers at Charlotte in 2019. One hit wonder?
  18. I still say that I would bat Moncada cleanup ahead of Goodwin. He inspires more fear as a hitter and protect Abreu better.
  19. Leury is a utility player that is not designed to be an everyday player.
  20. 89 mph fastballs in the zone particularly in the inner portion to lefties tend to go a long way.
  21. Fair enough but I question him hitting cleanup.
  22. Detroit is looking better than Cleveland lately.
  23. I miss James McCann.
