I was responding to a post that said Goodwin was positioned towards Gordon going the other way.

Sox are lucky that we are in the worst division in baseball.

Maybe better to analyze the pitch to Gordon instead. It was a breaking pitch in the middle of the zone. ESPN announcer said there was no need to throw a strike to Gordon who is a free swinger. Also maybe Cease was already gassed with 107 pitches.

Particularly if Cease was going to throw a breaking ball that Gordon could sort of pull.

He took a horizontal route to the ball first instead of going back right away.

Eaton made a great play yesterday at the wall. Haven’t seen Goodwin make that kind of a play.

Billy hitting clean up hurt us at the end. That was due to Goodwin hitting clean up first. Another TLR inexplicable decision.

This game turned on Goodwinnot making the play on Gordon’s triple and Moncada being thrown out at the plate with no outs. We have no margin of error with the team we are putting on the field now.

Collins is the worst catcher in the league. Wish we had McCann back instead.

Goodwin took a bad route to the ball.Hamilton and/or Engel could have made the play. Goodwin is a defensive liability particular in parks with big center field areas.

I guess Mc Cann was too expensive, but it was a pleasure watching him defensively. Collins is just awful. Also none of our catchers can throw anybody out. Catching is our weakest defensive position.

I have to presume that Grandal couldn’t go for Goodwin. TLR has not been good but could he be that bad?

Sure did. TLR is obsessive on hitting righty’s against lefty’s no matter what. Sheets is on a roll and have to go with him regardless when we need a long ball as well.

Tigers are winning because they have been more clutch with men in scoring position than the Sox.

SoX have the highest ground ball rate in the majors. Need to try more hit and runs. Hit and runs also have the advantage of opening more holes in the infield for our ground balls to get through.
