  1. Cleveland and Minnesota were very good teams. And he pitched well against them. I'm by no means defending him. Dude shouldn't be on the postseason roster. But he was also integral in them reaching the playoffs last year and to deny that is just kind of revisionist history. Both things can be true. He can have a shitty season this year and also still have pitched really well last year.
  2. Finished in the top ten in Cy Young voting last year but ok. I guess that doesn't count anymore
  3. He had a great start against Seattle in his start after that. And a great one against the Orioles. Also pitched very well against the As. And some of those losses were tough luck. To be honest, the turning point was kind of the loss against the Royals in August where he actually pitched really well.
  4. You do realize Cleveland won't be coming close to the White Sox this year right?
  5. He's here. I don't have a problem with him starting this final month to eat innings, especially with Lance and Gio out. But once they get back, Rey Lo should get the ball.
  6. Nah. He's had some good outings this year. But these last three have just been atrocious. I get he has had some bad luck. But he's not even fifth starter good right now.

I'm ok. Was stuck in a bar in the LES till midnight. Major flooding near me but not on my streets.
  8. Where are all the Kimbrel boo birds?
  9. Please don't turn to me as the expert on hamstring injuries just because of my injury this week.... Having said that, I can say that based on my experience dealing with them in Soccer, the fact that he could walk off on his own volition and thought he could stay in, likely means he's ok. I think we collectively as White Sox fans after experiencing the dearly departed Madrigal's injury can now at least tell the difference. That being said, since Lucas doesn't have a rec league soccer championship game anytime soon, IL him for a week.
  10. ???? my thoughts on the season
  11. I know exactly which one you are talking about. I think we might be playing soccer near there in the fall.
  12. My buddy asked me if I wanted to be in his beer league softball team and I said there was no way I was taking my North Brooklyn ass to Bay Ridge at 9am on Sunday mornings.
  13. None taken. I'm not on twitter. ? Mine resulted from not doing propper stretching before hand. Was rushed when I got there. Also rec league soccer is pretty intense and physical.
  14. I'm resting a hammy as well. It can be painful. Unlike Tim, I'm playing because it's a championship game (rec league soccer). I'm sure Tim would play in his rec league championship soccer game as well. ?
  15. There goes my thing that he was using trainer as a euphemism to take a shit in his belt game.
  16. I still think he'll win it. Basically, Cole's season has a lot of highs and lows. I think at the end of the day, he likely gives up a ton of runs in one of his last starts. Keep in mind, Cole will have to face Tampa twice. Cole got shelled against them in his last start. Lynn's has been a straight line. Lynn just needs to get 30 more innings. He averages 5-6 innings a start and he should get there still. And if his ERA stays steady or declines a little bit, I think he's in good shape. I just think traditional metrics kind of go out the window when it comes to Cy Young this year.
  17. Props to Kyle Hendricks for having a classic mid aughts old man type season of a lot of wins and a high era.
  18. He did a lot of great things in the community. Including helping get large portions of the Chicago population vaccinated and also the stuff with his sister is heartbreaking. I think he's likely a genuinely good person but as a baseball player, he's kind of a jackass.
  19. Braves are sneaky but no. I'm honestly kind of hard-pressed to think how on talent alone the Sox aren't considered favorites in the AL.
  20. Oh. Lol for some reason I thought he wrote for one of the Southside based newspapers that I'm now forgetting. Haha.
  21. Who did Crowley write for?
  22. Was he Pito level? ALthough might not be fair. Pito is one of the best defensive 1st Basemen in the league.
  23. First off, yes. Luis is what they touted Beltran to be and quite frankly, even though Beltran is a future hall of famer, I'm still not sure he lived up to his potential. That being said, it's my recollection that Frank was an adequate fielder. Frank was always a good athlete. He was a very good Tight End at Auburn. I recall seeing him make some pretty good plays in the field. And I always wanted him to play 1st as he always was a better hitter when got to play D. Am I just misremembering?
