  1. I think he will come back and go 0-4 in one game and then sit out for a few because of a mysterious "viral knee problem infection". Then he will try to pinch hit in a game but will go back on the DL with a "sore knee problem esophegus".
  2. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 11:27 AM) You guys should stay there.. Jake will love those seats and you'll love them once you start bringing him and all his "essentials" BTW.. I sent you an email a while ago.. you get it? I will never take Jake for a half price night though. To much bulls*** out there on those nights to have him with. He went to his first game on Memorial day, that game wasn't on my plan and I bought seats down the first base line. He seemed to enjoy the whole thing and wasn't freaked out by the crowd or the pre-game fireworks at all. He isn't too bad to travel with either, just one bag and the stroller (which we left up in the chained off area at the top of the section.) I did get your email.
  3. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 11:21 AM) hahahaha, same posts at the same time. this is why my season tickets are going to be in the 300 level next year. Yeah, I have been telling my friend we should spend a little extra and move. The only bad thing is we have first row in the bleachers and it is nice not to have anyone in front of us. I am sure if we move we will be back a few rows no matter where we go. The other thing is, we like the bench seats of the bleachers. More room to spread out.
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 05:42 AM) Hu...? The amount of people at the game effects if you have a good time or not..? That's weird. More often than not, I hate it when more people are there. It is great to have the crowd noise and see the place full, but the big crowds also bring out the big idiots. It would be ideal if the place was filled with people who have bought ticket packages ahead of time and have money invested in their seats. This way they are less likely to be there just to get drunk and make an ass of themselves. I have had my seats in the bleachers for years now and I love the view from out there, but I am at the point where I don't even want to go on Mondays and Tuesdays anymore. The half price nights bring out the crowds and with them the drunks who feel they have to start fights and throw s***. I usually have a better time when the crowd is smaller. Easy in and easy out parking, no lines for food, and I can hit the men's room and get back to my seat without missing a pitch. Plus, I don't have swarms of drunken frat boys fist fighting around me or throwing food, coins and other objects at other people in the crowd. Guess I am just a grouchy old fart now.
  5. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 31, 2005 -> 08:22 PM) I need to do a research project for U.S. History. We were given the lyrics to the song "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel (1989). I chose my 10 topics to cover. They are: 1952- Rocky Marciano 1953- Roy Campanella 1955- Elvis Presley 1955- Disneyland Opening 1959- Mafia Origins 1960- "Psycho" the Movie 1961- The Bay of Pigs Invasion 1962- John Glenn 1964-1989- Watergate and Crack-Cocaine I need a description about how these topics affect/effected U.S. History. Any help will be appreciated and I thank you in advance. For extra credit, I need to interview somone who lived through at least 3 of the events listed from the 50's and 60's. Needed information is: Name, Age, Name of Event/Topic, how they learned of the event, what their feelings/reactions were, opinions of others around them, the topics effect on them/family/community/city. Once more, thanks in advance. If you can help me with the extra credit....please PM me. BTW, I need your permission for a whole transcript of the interview. Rocky Marciano beat people up. Roy Campenella was a catcher. Elvis shook his hips and liked fried peanut butter and bannana sammiches. Disneyland gave us big mouse ears and Annette's big boobs. There is no such thing as the mafia, those guys are all just plumbers and waste management executives. Thanks to the movie "Psycho" there were a lot of people who went on vacation in the 60's and 70's and refused to take showers. Hope all that helps you get an A+
  6. QUOTE(knightni @ May 31, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) Everett should have PH for Thomas. Hermy should have come in for Buehrle. Iguchi should have batted for himself. And I should have had a funnel cake yesterday. Skipping it was my worst decision.
  7. 4/4 Sox win on opening day and I get fatter tailgating. 4/7 Shingo meltdown and much swearing. 4/15 Sox win but I lose my truck keys after eating at Gio's. 4/19 Sox beat the damn twins. 5/12 Sox beat to O's. Annoying cub fans behind me the whole game. 5/13 Same thing as the game on 5/12. A win and annoying cub fans. 5/16 A.J. hits that grand slam but the Sox lose. I get to witness the oddest confrontation I have ever seen at a ballgame. The "Aaron's Amigos" sit right next to me every game and at this particular game a gang of the "Rowand's Rowdies" decide to come over and start a Rowand fan club gang war. I hate the stupidity that goes on during half priced nights in the bleachers. 5/30 Sox win, Frank is back, and my 10 month old son is in attendance for his first game.
  8. I went out today and bought a Cubs hat and a Woods jersey. Always remember.... Chicago Understands Baseball Superiority - Bleachers, Love, Oldstyle, Women.
  9. I have met some people from here at games, soxfest, etc. Some have been cool and others turned out to be assholes. Pick a game and I will meet you if I am there. Or, just go over to section 162 and yell, "Hey asshole!" and I will turn around to meet you.
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 03:53 PM) Yeah he was there all night Saturday. Real nice guy B) He talked to me.
  11. All the rain is coming from the SW. The radar shows some thunderstorms around Joliet that look like they could head right toward the Cell. I am in Lisle right now and it is raining pretty good here.
  12. Might have some long rain delays. weather.com

    Bowling....

She is a free agent next bowlling season and was motivated to play for a new contract.
  14. Didn't you drive down from Michigan in the model T to see that no-hitter in person?
  15. Maybe we will bump into you. Will be there tonight hoping it doesn't rain.
  16. Yeah I dig. You are worried about things, but it is beneath you to actually do anything to help. You find it much easier to complain that nobody else is helping. If attendance worries you so much, try going to a few games.
  17. Someone this worried about attendance must be a season ticket holder. So what section are your seats in? Yep.. thought so.
  18. Would you dump a CF that had these career stats after his first 3 seasons? G - 106 AB - 359 H - 88 HR - 14 RBI - 60 AVG - .245 SB - 7
  19. But the only way to keep him was to offer him arbitration and pay him that much. So why even bring him up? If Reed comes up and isn't ready and struggles like Ventura did when he was a rookie (0-42 slump) will you continue to back him?
  20. So you would have given Everett $9 million - $10 million to play CF this year?
  21. Its only inexcusible for others not to be out there. Most of the people that cry the loudest about attendance never go themselves.
  22. Whatever, he sounds like a broken record most of the time on here. I'm sure he enjoys the attention though, it seems to be what he lives for.
  23. Don't flatter yourself so much.
  24. A typical Brando post; a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
