  1. in replies our very own Y2Jimmy is lending his credibility some to this (saying he has heard about it multiple places now, lets see where it goes) and is saying Madrigal is not realistically enough as a headliner
  2. Last couple of years he has been more than a Slappy McSlappersons. Adding power. He cant play a position that great but you'd get through it with him at 2b against tough righties in the playoffs
  3. My best estimate of the situation: Gomez is someone who has had some scoops, yes (Eloy extension). But he probably also has been identified as someone who will run to social media with anything you give him. So agents will use him to drum up talk.
  4. https://nypost.com/2021/01/13/mlbs-dh-fight-holding-up-mets-offseason-sherman/ It's nothing but just to note...this article floated the idea that the Mets could pursue a trade for Engel.
  5. In his book “One Last Strike,” Tony La Russa wrote about his debates with longtime pitching coach Dave Duncan, over whether they would rather have an elite closer or a true No. 1 starter to start a pitching staff. La Russa wanted the closer, which was more about how solidifying the final stage enabled his game planning than an argument about which asset front offices should treat with a greater priority. https://theathletic.com/2250689/2021/01/11/white-sox-liam-hendriks-free-agency/
  6. It is time for many of you to look directly into the mouth of that sandwich and apologize..
  7. LA Times: https://www.latimes.com/sports/dodgers/story/2021-01-07/blake-treinen-dodgers-wait-out-bullpen-market-kirby-yates The Dodgers’ interest in Hendriks, widely regarded as the best free-agent reliever, has recently dissipated, according to people with knowledge of the situation. The 31-year-old Hendriks wants a four-year contract. But going to four years for a reliever isn’t in the Dodgers’ playbook this winter.
  8. Madrigal may become an all-star, but with no power, everything else has to be perfect. Every square of inch of that defensive issue from last year has to get cleaned up right good.
  9. Sure but it just speaks to their thought process on how to handle their offseason. You spend prospects when you are ready to not break the bank on a Bauer+Tanaka. So there's an element of cost consciousness in what SD is doing even though we of course are all praising their offseason (rightly)
  10. Feels like the agents are wanting NYM or LAD to jump in big on Hendriks but it doesnt seem to be happening. Toronto and the Sox are the types of teams that show interest and get told to wait until the big boys are done figuring things out. Toronto is a natural place for agents to use them in rumors since they arent in the country (and likely wont be playing in their home country even in year 1 of any contract) Doesnt make sense for San Diego to go get Hendriks since they just gave quality prospects for Snell. Were they to go get Hendriks, that means they're paying a closer more than what they just got their near-ace for. Could have just paid a free agent starter if that was the plan.
  11. Thanks. Actually you would remember me but I forgot my password lol. Thats what I get for sitting out the Ryan Cordell Era. If anyone wants to help me recover what I had let me know
  12. Just enjoy the Food Guys. They've been ahead of the media on some things but there is also no need to see them as a pied piper either. It's not going to leave you embarrassed if you followed it and they end up not batting 1.000 Just tidbits to share and is good discussion source either way on how to shape the team
  13. You never know how Steve Cohen's gonna respond to a talkin beef sandwich with feelings
  14. It might have been the one that said we recently raised our offer to him
