  1. Second guessing is so easy to do. The Yankees second guessed Torre all the time; now they have a clown in Girardi. Oz has gotten the most out of his talent this year. Any manager we had you can second guess 10 moves in any loss. That's a fact. He's a great manager.
  2. I do. Ozzie is as good as any except maybe Torre.
  3. I don't know what happened in the first game yet, but yes, I am an Ozzie backer. I think he's a great manager. But I am pissed that the worst possible scenario tonight has happened: KC laying over for Minnie and us dropping two.
  4. It's not easy to lose a doubleheader at home. What a joke.
  5. I just logged on. Are you kidding me? We're gonna get swept?? What's with us against good teams? I do realize we beat Angels 2 of 3 but some say they are cruising toward playoffs and not in killer mode.
  6. When I read how many doctors were to be in the room for CQ surgery ... ain't no way he'll be back this year. We'll be lucky to get him for spring training. I agree Joe is done. Sad story bout his back.
  7. Catcher: Pudge. 1b - Ernie Banks (he played in Chicago longer than Dick Allen). 2b - Fox, Sandberg tie. ss- Aparacio (Kessinger, Alan Bannister runnersup, joke on Alan). 3b - Santo (I loved Bill Melton and Robin). LF - Shoeless Joe. CF- Hack Wilson RF - Billy Williams. Righty: Ferguson Jenkins. LP - Buehrle, Kenny Holtzman second. RP - Sutter, Jenks tie. DH - Big Hurt. Apologies to Minnie, Ozzie, Paulie, Dye, Beckert, et. all.
  8. The tall lug is going to be vital in the DH tomorrow. Hope he wants to be part of a pennant winner and doesn't pitch like he did a year ago. We need him to excel vs. the Jays in the DH.
  9. Do you realize how big that DH is?? Man pennant races are scary. Let's face it, Minnie is going to sweep KC. The games probably won't be even close. KC is in the tank. They have quit on their little dictator of a manager who has done a piss poor job this season. Hope we bring our A game(s) tomorrow.
  10. That is what seems to kill us a lot, when we have to use a lot of relievers. Many times at least one of them sucks. The fewer we need to use the better.
  11. But if we get in, can't we get hot like St. Louis did to win it all?
  12. If the Royals beat the Twins in one of these games, it will be a miracle. KC is toast.
  13. Boston is the best. I just hope we can hold off Minnie and take our chances of getting hot in the postseason. Those first two playoff games are crazy. Play a night game, then a day game and you are 2 games into the series before you know what hit you.
  14. We just have to be up 2 or 3 heading into Minnesota. We have to be able to withstand a possible sweep. If we are tied with them or one down entering the series and they sweep, the season is OVA.
  15. Don't mean to sound like a dick, but this was a bad loss. Up 2-0 in the series and 2-0 in the game, we had a great opportunity to gain a game on the pests from Minnesota. But on the other hand ... we won two of three from the best team in baseball. We won two of three from the best team in baseball. I just hate losing the 2-0 lead when we had a chance for a monumental victory this late in the season in a home game. Still we won 2 of 3 from the best team in baseball. Not bad.
  16. Wow! We win 10-2; they win 10-2. My god the Twins go home and kick some butt after that lousy road trip of theirs. To all the Paulie bashers ... do you feel a little stupid right now? Do you admit he's been on a nice roll of late? Congrats Paulie on getting the BA up to .245. Not bad for somebody many fans wanted flushed down the drain. Go SOX!!!
  17. I saw the ESPN story and it listed something like 4 doctors doing the surgery. And he'll be out a couple weeks. Sure he will. No way. He gone.
  18. If he punched a locker ... geez that is so f***ing stupid. Hit the locker with your bat and pay the damages you dumbass. If he didn't punch a locker, then I feel sorry for CQ. If he did, he should be fined.
  19. Yup, he's getting a break cause he's got a break in the wrist. Which breaks my spirit. The veteran hitters better pick it up. That's you, Griffey.
  20. I guess I just don't care if we're expected to win or not. We just lost the best player in the league. I don't care if expectations are lowered. I could see us going into a big funk without him. The guy is MVP and he's gone.
  21. At least we have a chance now. But will Weaver go tomorrow? Then that game is the automatic loss unless we match him pitch for pitch and eke out a win late.
  22. I disagree completely. How can having one of the best hitters league be out of the lineup make the games more enjoyable to watch? Now we are considerably weakened. Fans in Minnesota have to be celebrating wildly. This is a huge loss and no way will he be back this season. A broken wrist? They should say he's gone for the year. The odds of us winning now are s***. This sucks.
  23. He was a great White Sox. Has had a darn good career.
  24. I just read that he's out til Monday. Yuk. Read Mark Gonzales' fine copy and weep: Win and survive. That’s the White Sox’s theme for the remaining 23 games this season after a patchwork lineup and the pitching of Javier Vazquez and Bobby Jenks produced a 4-2 victory over the Indians on Wednesday and kept them in first place in the American League Central. The Sox’s task becomes even tougher with the strong possibility that slugger Carlos Quentin probably won’t be available until at least next week’s Toronto series—and maybe much longer. “That’s our hope,” manager Ozzie Guillen said of a return Monday by Quentin, who has 36 homers but has been hampered by a sore right forearm near his wrist. Quentin left quickly after the game and was unavailable for comment. The Sox displayed a sampling of the future without Quentin, Joe Crede (lower back stiffness) and A.J. Pierzynski and Jim Thome, each of whom got a break from the lineup.
  25. I would agree with that take. Completely. Thanks Toronto! Just lose to us when we play you next, please.
