  1. That's a good problem to have. All those guys are studs. Without Danks and Floyd's excellence this year we'd really be hosed as evidenced by the fact we have to trot Clayton out there again.
  2. I like that one. I got an email from a die hard, unjaded Soxfan buddy of mine today who does not read the sometimes critical message boards. "As a Sox fan, I am proud of the way our Pale Hose have played this year with the injuries. This is a shell of the team that left Spring Training, and yet they are still in first by 1.5 games and have a chance to go to the playoffs. All it takes is to get there and anything can happen in a 5 or 7 game series. Believe it or not, I like our chances with our experience from 2005. "I think we'll hold on. All we need is to win one game in Minnesota and they'll only gain one game. Who knows, maybe we'll have to play that make-up game against Detroit to decide it. We get the playoff against the Twins in Chi-town, too. All could be big factors. Fun year, but intense! Go Sox!"
  3. Poor Josh. Horrible season after last year's good one. I hope he can bounce back next year. With Crede gone, he'll have the real opportunity to win the job at third base.
  4. Since there's always a lot of b****ing on here after we lose, including from me, I thought this was a nice tribute to post about Gavin. Written by Howie Rumberg, Associated Press Sports Writer New York — Gavin Floyd refused to give in to Jason Giambi as the Yankees’ slugger fouled off pitch after pitch with the bases loaded in the fifth inning. Eighth pitch, ninth pitch, 10th, Floyd kept thinking to himself, “I’m going to get him.” And he did. Floyd struck out Giambi on the 12th pitch of the at-bat, the highlight of a gritty seven-inning performance that helped the AL Central-leading White Sox beat New York 6-2 Tuesday night. “I think that’s when this kid started to become a man,” White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said of his 25-year-old ace in the making. “Every time we are bleeding this guy gives us a chance to win the game.” Hope Gavin had a Bud or MGD after the game to celebrate a nice job.
  5. Uribe has been great. I want to see confirmation his locker was cleared out. That would be sort of startling. He's been a great member of the White Sox. Hate to see him go out that way.

I know what you are saying but it's pretty bad when the only time Oz will ever be able to use this guy is when 2 lefties are coming up. Then half the time they'll pinch hit anyway. There must be some horrible relief pitchers in minor league baseball if guys like Logan, Wasserman, Ramirez get looks from big league teams. My god.

They truly do suck. The "bad" Dotel is horrific also. I don't know what we can do unless we just decide to go with Thornton and Jenks until their arms fall off and throw Linebrink in there as well and I guess Carrasco though I think he is meat as well. One thing is for sure: Wasserman, Logan and Ramirez should not face another batter the rest of the season. There is absolutely no reason for them to throw a pitch. Who is our batting practice pitcher? Maybe that guy would like to try.

Twins lost; we blow prime opportunity again to put some distance on this before the dreaded series at the Twinkdome. Our record is great; our team is weird. Can we somehow split this series?
  9. Great post Kalapse, but the reason I question Dotel's head is tonight for example. That inside burner he threw for the strikeout was amazing. Then the next pitch was belt high meat for the home run. His first two pitches to the first batter he faced were unhittable. The next four pitches were not even close to the strike zone. Weird. Maybe it is all because of what you said about innings, but I don't understand why some pitches are so nasty.
  10. That's neat how we are hanging in there w/out CQ and Paulie and Crede and Linebrink (those many weeks). We have a lot of wins for a team that has had some injury woes.
  11. Thornton and Bobby are the only ones who are reliable and Thornton still is wild sometimes isn't he?
  12. Some of the Yankee starters have been s*** lately. Hopefully we can somehow win 2 or 3.
  13. I thought you were saying I wasn't a true Sox fan just cause I wanted the matchup. You are right. A win isn't guaranteed. I just think it would be wild nationally to see it all Chicago all the time. Also with the AL superiority ... I think we'd win. A loss would be horrific though.
  14. Great great day. Applause for our starters. Wise's hit truly was incredible. Loved Thome's homer and BA's as well. I don't know what lesson can be learned from Game Two. I guess Oz should assume no lead is safe the next 2 weeks and only pitch Thornton and Bobby in the pen until their arms fall off. And I guess Linebrink as well. Boone should never toe the rubber again this year. Just the sight of him awakens our opponents' bats. Doetl is stealing money from major league baseball. He is so bad at times it baffles. A DH win this time of year is so huge. Congrats Sox on a great day.
  15. Mex, believe me I'm a true Sox fan. The only reason I'd want the Cubs there is I think we'd win the first two in the Cell and beat them. Obviously I don't want them in if we're not there. The reason I'd want them out is to keep them from winning the NL title, but I think we'd spoil the Series for them. If it's that dangerous and there will be murders, I'm against it.
  16. Probably true. I think I'm going to vote for Obama since he's a Sox fan.
  17. Why don't you guys want it? First two games in the Cell. It'd be awesome.
  18. Not that I care about the Flubs ... but wouldn't it be great? Sox-Flubs World Series? Make it happen baseball gods.
  19. I wish I had some champagne after that game.
  20. He was kiddin about CQ. Even I can tell that
  21. D. Wise for President after tonight. That's all there is to it.
  22. I think Dotel needs the sports psychologist or somebody to teach him how to pitch.
  23. Boy that replay was sweet. Nice job of getting bat on ball, Wise.
  24. I don't think Boone has the stuff to learn anything from anybody. Maybe after 5 more years of minor league seasoning.
