great hour by WGN. I shoulda taped it. Classic stuff to save forever.
  2. My grandfather who grew up on south side and followed every pitch, every year and died a few years back. To my dad who still lives and loves the Sox. To all the grandfathers and relatives of you all who love or loved the Sox. Obviously most of all to each member of the current team, the coaches, GMs, who have put in all the work. Congrats on what you have done; good luck trying to win it all.
  3. he simply has to eat crow. Or maybe he'll ignore all the choke stuff he was writing in the past. It'll be fun reading him ALL WEEK having to give the Sox their props. Soak it up Sox fans cause with the game on Saturday, the Chicago papers are going to be all Sox, all the time this week. And it's all going to be positive stuff. GO SOX!
  4. If we win the World Series, we need to commemorate this with Chicago's own Mt. Rushmore. Build it downtown in one of the plazas. Jose, Freddie, Jon and Mark B. For Chicago relievers — make that one reliever, lefty Neal Cotts — threw a measly two-thirds of an inning in the series.
  5. Pauley for the first inning homers and his clutchness. But I agree Mark B's outing was unreal.
  6. It's like this was the old days, the Baltimore staff of the 60s or 70s or whenever the heck those four starters of theirs (Palmer, McNally, etc.) were dominant. I was amazing at how incredible Jose was tonight in the 8th and 9th. Nasty stuff. He probably coulda pitched 12 innings!
  7. Great posts by all of you! I've loved Oz all the way through, and forever more will eat my own words about Kenny. I thought he was a buffoon early on as GM. He wasn't. He isn't. Good job Oz and Kenny and good call chisoxfan when you told us all to shut up after Game One. You said this team wouldn't quit. The team was stale in Game One and hot as hell after that!! 4 complete games in a row? You've got to be kiddin me!
  8. my gosh, what a stellar outing! geez louise white sox and freddie, thanks for the great memories this season and the great play! way to jump on em paulie and pitch freddie! keep it rolling Sox. it ain't over til it's over but what a great effort the first two games in anaheim!!!! GO SOX! WE WANT THE SERIES!
  9. My gawd ... what a studly performance!! Epic performance!! Nine innings?? In his home state?? After that kind of layoff? Way to go, Jon. Never ever will anybody ever again mention Judy Garland in your presence unless you are with friends watching the Wizard of Oz. Helluva season; helluva game tonight! Keep it up Freddie!!!
  10. Laugh in their face. We won. No apologies. I just hope the Sox handle this the right way and kick ass in Cali.

I love Crede; I think he's close to getting that Damon thing going with the wild hair. He's clutch. Good glove, clutch hits, seems like a loosey goosey clubhouse guy. Way to go Joe may replace say it ain't so, Joe in Sox lore.
  12. I hope our Sox players laugh tonight and in coming day off at media that question us for winning in a controversial way. A.J. was smart enough to care enough to run to first. Ozuna still stole second and Crede bashed the hit in a series where we hadn't had many big hits, not many hits at all. That one angle suggested the ball hit the ground. So our Sox should tell the media to stifle, take a flying leap, and talk about Mark's effort and Crede's big hit and some of the calls that went against us. There's no crying or feeling sorry in baseball!!! Killer instinct in Cali, baby! That game is over. Let the country cry; we gotta have the eye of the tiger in Cali. s*** happens and we took advantage.
  13. We are hitting nubbers, not liners. Mark B better keep it up until our hitters get inspired. We're getting shut down. If this keeps up, it's reminiscent of our effort against the O's way back when in the playoffs. We got 2 runs last night; one tonight, precious few hits. GO SOX!
  14. I didn't like the way Juan looked on that grounder. That error sucked. Wake up fellas or it's gonna be too late.
  15. I didn't like the way Juan looked on that grounder. That error sucked. Wake up fellas or it's gonna be too late.
  16. Cora has got to use his head. He didn't. That was asinine. Mark B better be dominant today until we get our heads out of our asses.
  17. Thanks Joey you f***ing moron!! That was as dumb a call as I've ever seen! My gawd. STUPID!!!
  18. that sucks there were so many rich fans who didn't cheer and had no stake in the team apparently. But like you said, with Anaheim's travel the past couple days we were expected to win unlike the bosox series. It's a big difference. You gotta have the killer instinct and we probably woulda had it against the hated yanks.
  19. If we won on a walk off homer the series would have been ours. Case closed. Now it's a dogfite. Like fathom said if we lose 2 at home ... yikes. We may be in deep deep trouble. It will take a miracle to overcome 0-2 heading to Cali.
  20. He can be very streaky. but who can we replace him with TIMO-Willie- Blum-Ozuna or Carl. Heck no. He plays and hopefully starts rapping some doubles and homers. We don't want to see any of those guys yu mentioned.
  21. I tip my cap to him. What did we get? a handful of hits. But I agree with you all. We could have beaten da bum and should have. He ain't no Roger Clemens. I may be a glutton for punishment but I hope we get to face him again. If he beats us twice in a series, I'll be surprised.
  22. Ozzie doesn't have to say much, actually. We were great against Boston. He has to just tell them the truth: "We had chances to win tonight, we appeared flat and didn't win. Guys have some fun and let's kick their ass today. We want to play in the World Series, right???" Dat's all he needs to say IMO.
  23. I wish Paulie would have bashed a homer in the bottom of the eighth. Had that happened, the Cell woulda gone nutso, Bobby woulda come on in the 9th and we'd be the darlings of America again. We wouldn't be talking about botched bunts. Instead ... mark has to kick ass in Game Two. We need to win that game. You don't go to Anaheim down 0-2 and win this series IMO
  24. He was phenomenal again. Good job; lets kick ass tomorrow. We need to show some balls cause the Angels will be loose again in Game Two since they have first service break.
