Different friend. Just called me with serious problem. His wife just left last night. She went to stay with her mom. Said she's unsure if she wants marriage to continue. They have one 9 year old boy, no other kids. The wife is very sweet person, very attractive, not a b**** in any way. The husband, bless him, is very very devoted to wife and child. But he's wound so tight, so uptight. He's a former football lineman and has that type of monster mentality. Bark, not bite. He'd never hit her or the child or anything. He's just a Type A lunatic if that's the right word, one of those guys who screams at motorists, etc. My advice to him was tell her this is his wake up call. Tell her he'll do anything, go to counseling, do all he can to give her the perfect life. They've dated since high school and are 35 and meant for each other. I told him to just tell her he will do everything in his power to make her life as perfect as possible. That he will work on himself through counseling, etc. What should he do? He was beside himself in pain and almost crying when he called.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 11, 2016 -> 05:01 PM) Yep, we've been sold a bill of goods about college I'll stop with the topic then. Didn't know 400 partners was pretty average

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 11, 2016 -> 01:52 PM) LoL. If their were no term limits, Bill Clinton could still be president if he wanted to. Very true

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 11, 2016 -> 04:00 PM) In all my time on Soxtalk this is literally one of the worst posts I have ever read on here. You should be ashamed for have even typed it, whether trolling or serious. Have you read a word of his posts about gay life? He's trying to educate us. He has a unique perspective and is trying to inform. What he writes is totally contrary to what is portrayed. 400 partners?

QUOTE (farmteam @ Feb 11, 2016 -> 06:09 AM) There's a decent chance we've never heard of the person who will win the 2028 election. Here's my prediction. 2016: Hillary Rodham Clinton (decides to use full name) 2020: Hillary Rodham Clinton. 2024: Chelsea Clinton 2028: Chelsea Clinton 2032: I have no idea.

QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Feb 9, 2016 -> 09:07 PM) You can ask away. No worries. In gay life its all about how many people you sleep with. I have friends that have been with over 400 people. Most first dates end up in bed. I have a lot of friends that are in their late 20's mid 30's scared to death of losing their looks so they do Botox. Anymore questions feel free to PM me. I am sort of an expert on gay life being around it for over 20 years lol. I think the gay life is a lot different in reality than we've been told on TV shows, etc. It sounds like a big orgy type situation. Whitesoxjr27 is telling us some wild stuff that gay life is more about sex sex sex than the stuff we've been sold about gay marriage, etc. How the hell would any males stay married with this desire for sex being the only factor in gay relationships according to whitesoxjr?? Has the public been sold a bill of goods thinking gay lifestyle is basically the same as hetero lifestyle? Same goals of marriage, raising kids, having a picket fence, etc??

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 11, 2016 -> 02:08 AM) Probably not but if Obama could run again he'd win rather easily. It's amazing. I'd love a psychologist to tell us why, but if Obama could run again and again, he'd win the next four elections hands down in landslides. I don't get the voting public. Obama was a disaster of a president and yet like you said, he'd win President for sure if he could run again this time and I stand by my statement he could win three more elections after that.

If Biden entered tomorrow, would he win?

Bernie Sanders is the man on the Democratic side. Let's face it. If he was 10 years younger he'd be a LOCK. He's just a little bit old. He won big tonight, folks. I've been watching the post election shows and I've heard words like "desperate" regarding Hillary. I'm just repeating what I've heard. They said because of the African American support, she still is a lock to be the Democratic candidate, but the pundits are still questioning her bizarre screaming of her speeches and her desperate attitude, blaming a right wing conspiracy today. My only hope as a Hillary dis-liker, is that the FBI accuses her of a crime and charges are filed and b.) this African American vote is not a done deal. I'd prefer a Bernie vs. Trump election or even better Biden or somebody else decides to run and be the Demcratic nominee after all. Even Hillary supporters have to admit tonight was not a good result for Hillary Rodham Clinton.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 9, 2016 -> 10:19 PM) You know...I don't really get it. A lot of what Greg has said is actually true. Have you guys watched a lot of the clips. Most of the time I watch any coverage on the election, I just roll my eyes at the absurd arguments made on both sides of the court. You all do realize the vast majority of people who vote know nothing other than some slight aspects from what the media says and more often are going to go and vote based upon party and likeability. For example, someone just not liking someone because of there look is a total normal reason to not vote for someone or how they carry themselves. History has shown how superficial voters are and yet all of you want to ignore those facts. I have talked to numerous people who like trump purely because they here the media say he tells it like it is. None of them know what he actually is saying, he just "tells it like it is". Thats it. You all give people too much damn credit to be frank. And maybe someone will whine and say, well now we are smarter, no we aren't, Howard Dean's speach ended his campaign (did he have other issues, sure, but that one speech sure has hell torpedoed any remaining odds he had and it isn't like he said anything bad). Plus lets be realists, I could make an argument that Trump (and I think by now, all of you know I don't like Trump) is the most selfless of everyone in this campaign as he's the only one who hasn't been totally bought out (of course I'd also tell you he has a gargantuan ego and that is probably more to do with him running). They are all selfish candidates who have all kind of interests with gigantic egos. Anyone thinks otherwise is delusional. The potential exception to this is Sanders, who genuinely seems passionate about what he wants to do (and I'll give him credit for that) and is an extremely rare candidate from that regard. Thank you Chisoxfn! To get an esteemed moderator to back what I've been saying is a true honor. This proves that not everybody disagrees with my posts. I am not always wrong, folks.

QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 9, 2016 -> 08:25 PM) This is a really interesting conversation we keep having about greg posting things he's watched on cable news and how the media loves hillary. I think it's VERY interesting that young women voters are being attacked by older women basically saying, "How dare you not vote for a woman since you are a woman!" Again ... if a man said, "Of course I'm voting for Bernie. He's male," that person would be fried on TV.
-
QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Feb 9, 2016 -> 01:06 AM) Trust me. Gay guys are brutal to each other. If you're over 30 without a six pack they can be very mean. Gay life is full of partying, drinking, lots of drugs, and sex. I have many great gay friends don't get me wrong. Interesting to be educated on this. Do you find that gay people tend to be only about sex way more than a man/woman thing? As somebody with no clue on this subject I would 'think' that in gay relationships it's WAY MORE about hopping into bed ASAP, like I mean cut the date short and hit the covers. Am I right? Sorry if this offends. I'll stop if it's a bad subject.

This is good stuff on CNN. So if some male celebrity was to say he chooses Bernie over Hillary because he's a man, he'd get roasted by the media. But feminists are saying there's a special place in hell for women who don't support women and that's OK?? This young voter gets it right. Also did you see the clip of Rachel Maddow hugging Hillary and Bernie after the debate. Hilarious. Wink, wink we are all for you Hillary! Via CNN article. ... "As a young woman who supports Bernie Sanders, I'm frustrated and outraged by being constantly attacked by older feminists for my refusal to vote according to my gender," said Ariana Javidi, a sophomore studying human rights, economics and gender studies at the University of Connecticut. "Like my fellow young feminist women, I recognize that voting for a woman because she's a woman is sexist, just like voting for a man because he's a man is also sexist," said Javidi. "When older feminists like Albright and Steinem engage in increasingly baseless and wild explanations about why young women don't support Hillary, they display the limitations of their brand of feminism, while young women like me realize that one's gender isn't what makes them a feminist."

Please watch this and tell me there's not a bias AGAINST the Republicans. O'Reilly gets it right and hits hard. http://video.foxnews.com/v/4745292784001/h...1#sp=show-clips

Sox need a shortstop who can hit over .200. I really feel in a full season, Saladino won't hit for s***. I wonder how season ticket sales are going. Right now, I can't see this team overachieving. A ceiling of .500 seems about right. Please make a couple more moves, White Sox.
-
If they move, no way in hell would I be a Sox fan. I'd also feel very weird, like my whole life was a sham. The past wouldn't mean much if the team is in some other city. Sports are a big deal. I witnessed relatives screaming at each other in Sox vs. Cubs arguments. I actually was peacemaker in going to some Cub games with my grandfather as a kid since no other relatives would go with him. If the Sox moved, that would be terrible. I'm almost positive I would not follow them at all. I doubt I'd start to root for the Cubs but I guess it's possible. Chicago is the key here.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 8, 2016 -> 03:04 PM) who was that? I do love comparing elections in the 60's to now. People were all over the message boards back then talking about Nixon's sweat. History is history. It was a factor in the election. Candidates as you are well aware spend amazing amounts of time practicing looking into cameras, making sure they don't look scary on TV. Whether it's 30 percent or 50 percent ... superficial issues like looks and how one sounds definitely trump the issues in many cases.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Feb 8, 2016 -> 12:35 AM) Ironically trying to counter the fact that he's not another version of the inexperienced and unprepared Obama by saying how effective he is at destroying the country isn't the greatest argument in the world. Nor is citing your own accomplishments when you don't actually show up for the votes but simultaneously dinging Obama for golfing when GW Bush doing the same or hanging out at his Crawford ranch was just being a man's man. Caulfield, I respect your political posts. It's obvious you know your s***. Tell me what's going to happen in terms of both parties and then the general election.

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 7, 2016 -> 03:28 PM) I thought he said the wife knows and doesnt care before. No, the wife caught him before and was deeply hurt, but stayed married. He said it was a one time thing and wouldn't do it again. The wife is very nice and a mother of 2 so cool little ones. The guy just is an admitted sex addict and had the one bad experience with the psychiatrist and won't go back.

QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 8, 2016 -> 04:10 AM) We need to dispel with the notion that greg775 doesn't know what he's doing. He knows exactly what he's doing. What he's doing .... uh, • Expressing distaste for Hillary a lot. • Making a TRUE statement about superficialities being important to American voters. Do a Google on Nixon's appearance on TV vs. Kennedy. It was a BIG FACTOR. • Forgive me for posting about Hillary screaming when I heard about it on TV (somebody said it was sexist to comment on a woman screaming and not a man, because if a man does it it's perceived as forceful) and then sure enough I listened to her most recent speech and she was SCREAMING while spouting dumb cliches. One poster pointed out it's scary HOW MANY TIMES I've been actually right about some things. Forgive me if I post about Hillary a lot in a Democratic forum. There are only 2 candidates for gosh sakes. Hillary and Bernie. p.s. when I got asked to quit calling them nicknames did you notice I, uh, stopped doing so? If all posters obeyed like that it'd be a better board IMO. Truthfully since I got asked to quit giving my pet names for Bernie and Hillary ... I STOPPED DOING SO.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 7, 2016 -> 07:32 PM) Jesus christ stop and read what you wrote. That's really the argument you want to bring? You don't like her shrill volume level at the microphone? No I don't like that. And Balta, you are a smart person. You know little things like how a person looks or sounds means a TON in Presidential elections. Nixon losing to Kennedy because of the way he sweat on TV. Humphrey's looks and voice. You don't think superficiial things like looks and screaming matter? I'd say 30 percent of all voters vote on likeability. In our superficial country?? Of course they do. I despise Hillary for a lot of reasons but yes I wonder how Hillary supporters can stand listening to her scream out cliches? I notice you didn't answer my specific question but effectively changed the subject to screaming at me.

ABC is a joke. How can they not have a producer or intern or somebody in the hallway during the introductions and not make Carson look like a zombie? That was terrible. There are just horrible horrible candidates on the Republican side. Is Rubio serious about repeating the same lines four times in the debate? That's insane. He comes across as glass eyed and a nutjob, sort of. Cruz is just bizarre and abrasive to the ears needs to go away. By the end, people are going to be so sick of Trump it would be the biggest landslide in history if he runs against Hillary. Obviously I hate Hillary but her one saving grace is she has Bill hovering in the background and Bill is entertaining/cool, whatever the word you want to use. Carson is great but doesn't come across well on TV. Christie is like having Mike Ditka as president; won't fly. What a sorry cast of characters. Out of all of them you'd have to pick Trump as most electable still but again, his supporters are too vocal in a meanish way. But ABC ... did they try to embarrass the Rebulicans with that introduction? Was it deliberate?

Update on my friend who cheats with the hot chick while he and wife remain a couple while raising two kids. He's thinking about moving so the mistress will lose interest in him. She's way younger than him and is starting to complain about him spending time with his wife. She's starting to get more aggressive in wanting to spend more time with him. He'd move the family to another state because he has the type of job where the company has various cities available for employees. One thing I think is crazy. If I were in his wife's shoes, I'd demand to look at his phone more often. In this day and age, a cheater is going to have so many text messages. There's no way you can have a secret romance without a lot of texting. If my wife cheated once I'd demand the right to grab my wife's phone at any time and look for texts from lovers.

I realize as a Hillary-hater I'm kind of biased against her no matter what. But to the Hillary supporters I have a serious comment/question I'd love for you to answer. I listened to her today and want to know how you can stand listening to her SCREAM all her cliches. She gets to the mic and screams way too loudly and just utters cliche after cliche. Why is that working for you? Do you want her because she's the best of a weak crop or do you actually believe in Hillary?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Feb 5, 2016 -> 06:03 AM) When you think about it, Sanders has become a one-man version of Occupy Wall Street. It's forcing Hillary to tack to the left because her pragmatic/realistic/moderate/progressive side isn't going to motivate anyone, no matter how many times she mentions the Children's Legal Defense fund, CHIP, the fight over Hillary Care, etc. The Clintons made so much of the fact they were supposedly broke when they left the White House (that was quickly remedied by book deals)...but I don't feel many young people get a sense that Hillary cares about poor people. From reading about all the deals and sources of money for the Clinton Foundation (they can locate it in Harlem, but their hearts are in Westchester), the picture of what they've actually accomplished for all the millions of dollars "invested" gets murkier and murkier. Heck, the left wing of the Democratic party doesn't 100% believe the Obamas really care about the issues Sanders is directly taking on, either. Only Bill had that seemingly magical ability to connect to people and no matter how earnestly she endeavors, it's just lacking in her...that genuineness or authenticity, it's clear she's always going to be arguing the Presidency is something she has earned and has the right to but she doesn't know how to win it or exactly why. It's that tone-deafness which already destroyed Jeb Bush. But unlike Bush, Hillary has the media in her hip pocket. The key for her is they WANT her to win. So that means a lot and will assure her the Presidency likely in a landslide.
