  1. LOL at the White Sox. True pretenders. Wow.
  2. LOL. Man on nobody out. The old deal where closers can't pitch well in tie games.
  3. Let's face it. If Lopez is our best bet there, we don't deserve to win. That at bat was a complete joke.
  4. Ridiculous decision to send him just because we can't get a clutch hit. I'm out. Can't take this bulls*** against one of the worst franchises in baseball, the Royals.
  5. One out. That was way too shallow. What's wrong with Dunn? Bad back?
  6. Nice triple by Wise. He stroked it beautifully.
  7. Thank goodness for Paulie. Makes their two out double meaningless as well.
  8. Two out double. LOL. The Royals look great again.
  9. Two out hit proves meaningless. Royals lead after two frames.
  10. Nice hit. Tough break as that woulda been a triple.
  11. Am I imagining things or do the Sox starters give up a lot of early inning runs?
  12. Is Liriano one of the biggest disappointments in baseball considering his alleged raw talent? (I realize he's had some quality starts with the Sox).
  13. It's called momentum and predictably the Royals kick our ass after the fail with men on base.
  14. Boy that was a nonsequitir. Mendoza was throwing meat up there prior to the AJ and Viciedo at bats. From my TV eye it looked like he actually made some decent pitches vs. those two. Still sucks, however. Only one run out of that. s***.
  15. Ugh. That was not good by AJP. Two out.
  16. Here we go; bases loaded one out; gotta score some more baby.
  17. You can't deny the Sox have been horses*** vs. KC and there's no logical reason for the season series record vs KC to not be reversed right now. I'm just saying Sox should easily sweep and Detroit should lose 2 of 3. if that happened, we'd be loving life at 3 games up entering the Detroit series. We'd only have to win one vs. Detroit to be up in the standings after the Tigers leave town. If things continue the way they have been vs. Det and KC, the reality is we probably only win one vs KC and one vs. Detroit which won't be good.
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 03:13 PM) I don't understand how Greg isn't being interviewed by every news station in this country. I feel like he's the perfect median voter. edit: btw i don't want median voter to be considered a slight, it isn't. I just don't know that many people nowadays that were actually watching the convention for insight into the candidates. I did watch with an open mind. After watching the 2 conventions, I'd say I still dislike Romney and won't vote for him. I don't know how guys like Limbaugh can support him with a straight face. I mean, how can America vote for an elitist like Romney? If it's true he didn't want to bail out the auto industry, that is pretty bad. It's pretty obvious the Big O made the right decision on that at least. I also still don't like Obama and think he's weak (USA Today had a good lead editorial today supporting what I've been saying about Obama failing to get anything done because he isn't good at striking deals with Republicans; it blames Obama not the Repubs) and a blah leader. To his credit, he did at least OK the mission that killed Bin Laden. I would say at this time I don't completely dread the next four years under Obama, however, it is unsettling to know the next Republican president is gonna get rid of all this stuff Obama initiates like Obamacare and the like. I think it's safe to say most Americans or many Americans like me have a dim view of our future because both parties refuse to even try to get along and pass stuff that is good for America. I truly wish we could throw them all out of office. Let them try to find a job in this economy.
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 11:41 PM) The two most likely posters in this type of thread I didn't start it, just gave my honest assessment. We should easily sweep at this stage of the season. Sox should be alert, realizing they always faceplant vs. lowly KC. We should pick up 2 games on Detroit minimum. There's no reason in the world to not easily take 2 and likely take 3.
  20. It shouldn't be ugly but you are right, it could be. The Royals still suck. Texas handled them 3 of 4 without breaking a sweat in KC. Sox should easily sweep and Detroit should lose 2 of 3. That's what SHOULD happen. It probably won't, though. KC will win 2 of 3 or all 3 and Detroit will win 2 or 3.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 05:46 PM) I like this. What I enjoyed the most about his speech is it was honest. He believes what he says. A politician honest? Only Honest Abe was honest. Just a little joke but it's weird to see the word "honest" in connection with politicians.
  22. QUOTE (MEANS @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 12:35 PM) so Greg, if everyone believed in God what would really change about our society? You come off sounding like people are below you if they don't believe in your God. I don't mean to say they are below me. I think if people believed in God they would not be as selfish as they are and they would make better decisions for the betterment of all. I definitely think it'd be a kinder, gentler America. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 03:36 PM) You also question why I don't believe. I believe in science and fact, none of which supports religion. There still could be somebody in charge of it all no matter what theory you have on creation IMO.
  23. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 12:24 PM) Greg, as you can see from your posts throughout this thread, your thinking was in line with the majority of this board. Most of us would be disappointed but not entirely surprised. If someone were to send this thread to AJ he would see that he has a ton of fans that would be very upset if it turned out he was using. Most us have been very supportive, you included. There's no reason to kill a thread just because a rumor turned out to be false. The thread title was changed to reflect the fact that the rumor turned out to be false. The mods here aren't going to lock the thread and pretend nothing ever happened. The rumor came out, we all said that would suck if true, and the rumor was proven false. But there were hundreds of posts from the time the rumor started until when the rumor was killed. Relax. I'm sure AJ is okay with some fans having a discussion about him. Besides, this thread will start dropping down on the page today. By game time, it won't even be one of the top ten discussions...unless you keep insisting the thread be killed. You are probably right. Normally I think it's OK to discuss rumors but if the rumor is proven blatantly false, it's only fair to strike it from the record so to speak. I mean what if the rumor had been AJ physically attacked somebody. It's why a lot of newspapers won't print the names of alleged lawbreakers until they are charged. Oh well, I'm in the minority here, so I'll move on.
  24. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 08:31 AM) Must you always whine? I'm not whining. I'm standing up for AJP. All it was was a bad rumor. So dump the thread.
  25. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 10:37 PM) Absolutely not. Moving it to another unrelated forum and burying it like WSI did is not what we are gonna do. This has to do with a White Sox player It unfairly discusses a NON ISSUE regarding a true White Sox, AJP. There is NO STORY thus the thread should be killed out of respect for AJP. It cheapens the site IMO as there's no story here. I guess if somebody starts a rumor on Youk or Paulie next we can all discuss it and keep the thread around forever. Bad form IMO. At least the name of the thread should be changed to a discussion of the idiot who planted the rumor. The only story is about a reckless anonymous poster, not AJP. It's the same reason WGN doesn't put the camera on the idiots that run on the field. They don't deserve the attention.
