I don't even count Crochet when thinking through these as we will not be seeing him this season and I think if the FO thinks they have a shot this year he's gone at the deadline.

Last night just proved that it's the defense that will make or break this team. I think the offense will come around and starting pitching if healthy is nails. But nothing I've seen this year makes me think we aren't going to see another Leury in RF type debacle in the playoffs again even if we do make it. This team makes those mistakes way too consistently to not expect it at this point.

Same people that think wins are still a relevant statistic for evaluating starting pitchers. What good are numbers and statistics against the good old "eye test"?

Maybe not, but I'd rather them use whatever resources they do have in a manner that gives them the best chance to win. Definitely not ideal though.
