QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 18, 2006 -> 06:33 PM) Again, I say if IU steps out of the alumni ranks, Greg McDermott from Northern Iowa is a possibility. But then again, I wouldn't want to hate the Hoosiers. Oooh, dinner. Not a big enough name. They are going to make a big splash with this hire. I think they'll do their best to get a coach with name recognition as well as someone who is the right person to lead IU back to where it belongs. My darkhorse is Crean. I know he is interested in the job. Hopefully IU gives him a long and hard look. He does a great job recruiting in the midwest and is a player's coach.

Does 16-11, 8-8 in the Big 10 get IU in? I think they'll either be 15-12, 7-9 or the record above. Guess their play in the Big 10 Tourney will be the deciding factor. -

Here's to a total Iowa collapse so that Alford doesn't get the IU job. -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 18, 2006 -> 05:49 PM) Does any team in the country have players who whine and cry to the officials more after being called for a foul than Iowa? They are representative of their coach. An underachieving whiner who just hasn't gotten it done. -

Go Minny. We need Iowa to tank so Alford has no shot at the IU job. Here's my new philosophy. Anyone But Alford GO MINNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Jas, I think you are underestimating how good of a job IU is. It's not like you are rebuilding a baseball team here. You can have that program back up and running in two years with a good recruiting class. If White and Vaden stay (which I see happening), it's not a huge overhaul. Plus you'd have Wilmont and Ratliff to boot and a few recruits. That's a damn good nucleus. With a good coach they'd be ultra competitive next season. I mean if DJ says he is leaving and actually does, his stock will just flat out plummet. All he needs is a solid year and he is a first round pick. Once he gets off the emotion roller coaster of this ordeal, I think he reconsiders and returns. As far as Vaden goes, he could go either way I think. These guys are just speaking out of emotion. I think if MD doesn't get a job next year and these guys ask for advice on what to do, then MD is going to tell them to stay at IU. I think he genuinely does want IU to do well.

I can't wait for Paulie to hit a walk off on your sorry ass during a Cubs-Sox game this year. You are a sorry specimen. God you were awful on the White Sox. Worse than Koch (is that even possible?) Have fun rotting on the Northside.

Just heard CL Brown, the beat writer for IU for the Louisville CJ, on ESPN radio. When asked his opinion on the future of White and Vaden, he said that he felt both would be gone next year. CL is pretty close with Davis as well as some of the players. He even mentioned he went to the doctor with Davis on Monday. He also laughed at the writer on Foxsports.com writer (LINK) who said that Davis wasn't sick on Saturday. The host of the show had the writer on earlier and basically after he got off the phone called the guy a complete idiot for even posting that garbage he wrote. They had a good laugh about that guy, who is apparently based out of Boston. Don't see how he would know what was going on at IU to begin with. I'm sure some no-name out of Boston has tons of IU ties and connections. That article on Foxsports has just shown how irresponsible some of these reporters who write for websites have become.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 07:47 PM) So your admitting that at one time you went out of your way to get at me, which resulted in the two suspensions i've served without probable cause? Im all about forgiving and forgetting, if thats admitted, this problem is solved. I've never personally suspended you. I may have knocked you or whatever, but I didn't suspend you. As far as us getting along, I'm more than willing. -

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 07:43 PM) This thread was barely on the first page and entirely mistitled, not to mention, others are making the same mistake i did. it made perfect sense to me who deleted it as soon as i saw your name on the first page, why? because it goes in line with past decisions/moves you've made, all of which, were poor. i don't go to SoSH, for the umpteenth time, but carry on. You don't even know what moves I make around here. There aren't very many, if any, when it comes to editing people. Get over yourself, I don't even go out of my way to get at you anymore, you just insist on continuing to push things. -
QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 07:33 PM) His record is pretty awful. Counting this year he will have 3 NCAA tourney appearances in 7 years and only 2 winning records in the Big 10. That and coddling a rapist make him less than an ideal candidate. Hey Steve, how'd that Pierre Pierce work out for ya?

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 07:40 PM) He's taking full advantage of his new celebrity status; i just can't imagine anybody caring if Timo Perez said this, two similar players in terms of how terrible they are/were at the sport. He's always said what he thinks with no regard for what others think. This is no different. -

A Rod is a fraud. He is not Dominican. You are born in America, you are American. How can you defend him? The guy is not a winner. What has he ever won? He is full of stats. That is all. -

Just say no to Alford. His Big 10 record is worse than Mikey D. He is brutal. Just because he's having one good year and went to IU, isn't a reason to hire him.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 04:05 PM) Haha, I really don't think you'll have anything to worry about. We barely survived against you guys here. We're not a road team, never have been under Davis. I don't know if a "Rudy" type story is going to salvage this. Like I said, it'll be near impossible to rally from this. If somehow they did, they'd be lucky to win a tournament game operating in this atmosphere.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 04:00 PM) admins getting snippy. What is the board coming to? Some people would like to talk about a particular subject without people interjecting their unwanted opinions. If you want to talk about other college stuff, go in the main thread. This for the Davis situation and IU's coaching vacancy, nothing else. It's not being snippy. Read the thread title.

Also, I am removing anything non-IU from this thread. If you notice your post gone, that's why. Just an FYI.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 03:58 PM) I'm interested to know who all these people are. There are some great coaches out there obviously that would be interested in Indiana, but I'm not sure how much better off they'd be going to Indiana rather than staying at their current school. And my apologies if I don't suck the dick of all things Hoosiers to avoid disagreement, but I'm not one to simply agree with silly nonsense to avoid debate. It's pretty simple then, stay out of these threads. No one wants you in them.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) No problem, anytime! I'm very interested to see who Indiana gets, the candidates out there aren't all that great, and this hire is very important in terms of what direction the Indiana program goes, as it could go either way right now. There are like 20 college coaches who are untouchable. Consider anyone else fair game for this job. Unfortunately, you seem to be under the impression that coaches won't want this job. I beg to differ. It will be highly coveted. Also, if you want to just post negative remarks about IU's program continuously, why even post? Just stay in your ILL threads if you cannot exhibit class. Krush, Steve and Addy certainly don't have this problem you have.

Good stuff from Davis. He was a class act as always. Thank you, Mike.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 03:25 PM) For your former head coach paying players And your current head coach paying to get players. Wait, did I say that?
