"Tigers could be dark-horse contenders in '06"
They are a good contender to get beaten by KC. Dayn Perry you are a moron.

White Sox Spring Training quick hits
Hopefully that is the lineup, as that's the one I originally called. JD deserves to hit in the 3-hole. If he does, he'll have a huge year.

Anyone else love the versatile bench?
QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 1, 2006 -> 02:59 PM) I'm with you there. I'm a little surprised he's still here. Someone asked why he didn't play much last season at Soxfest and Ozzie said he was hurt then he and KW pretty much pushed the conversation along. I think Ozzie even said "We didn't need him," when asked why Gload didn't play much when the person asked why he didn't play when healthy. My interpretation: HE GONE! The funny part of the whole thing to me was that some idiot actually wasted his question on Gload. We just won a World Series and you're complaining at the lack of PT for Gload.

I don't think Gload will be on the Sox next year, but that's just me.

A Philly-Mets fight for Contreras?
Let's see, let's trade the World Series MVP. Wait, that'd be really, really stupid. No way Kenny trades a winning player like Jermaine Dye.
-
A Philly-Mets fight for Contreras?
I really hope this deal doesn't happen. We don't need Abreu and Dye was very solid last year. Ride it out with Contreras. Floyd is a real talent but hasn't put it all together yet.

Who will win the second lefty reliever job?
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 09:50 PM) I still think the other guy in the pen in 06 isnt on the 40 man yet...... Agreed 100%.

Core of the Core - 1/30 Update
I think I can probably make it. Although tenatively right now I'm only planning on watching the Sox on the road next year. Let us know more details as they become available.

Who will win the second lefty reliever job?
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 01:34 PM) It's silly to think that again, because of the "need" to have a second lefty, that Jeff Baj might miss out on starting out the season in the White Sox's bullpen. As much as I like Baj as far as being a good guy and from what he does around here, I think he could have a tough time making the team. Every time he's been seen in the majors, he's pretty much gotten lit up. His ceiling to me is the 24th or 25th guy on the roster. As far as your comment on Tracey, he seems to walk too many guys to start the season in the majors. Jason has man love for him of course, so I'll take his word on the fact that the guy has talent. If he can cut down his walks, I think he can be helpful. My guess is he starts the season in Charlotte.

Who will win the second lefty reliever job?
None of these guys. Munoz got torn a new one at Soxfest by Ozzie. I was actually standing right behind the guy who asked the question. You could see a minor trade in ST to pick up a veteran lefty or you may just see Cotts as the lone lefty. If I had to pick from these guys, I'd go with Reynoso if he could ever learn to command his pitches.

A Philly-Mets fight for Contreras?
Phillies fans are idiots. Do they really think they are going to get B-Mac from us?

A Million Little Pieces Controversy
Caught James Frey on Oprah today and she totally hung him out to dry. Granted, a lot of what he did was wrong, but she just hammered him completely. Her EGO is so abnormally large that she made the whole show about how embarassed and humiliated she was to ever have the book in her book club rather than trying to figure out what was and was not true in the book. I haven't read the book, many close to me have, but certainly the message of the board remains somewhat the same. I mean the guy shouldn't have lied, there's no doubt about that, but there is no reason to completely bury him like that. Anyone else see this or have any comment. The Official Soxfest Thread
QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 06:42 PM) They do charge extra for having more than two people in the room as I found out last year though. This year I'm telling them there's only two. The third person can wait in the lobby until we get our bags in the room. I've done the same the last two years.

Frank Thomas signs with Oakland Athletics
Since I've let everyone say their piece about Frank and what not, I would first like to thank him for his contributions to the organization. The face of the organization since the early 1990's, he deserves his props for what he did. I will never forget him. It was truly a pleasure to watch him wear the White Sox uniform so long. As far as Frank now with the A's, I've only got one thing to say. When he steps into the box at the Cell, I'm hoping we hear a big HE GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dayn Perry's key players of 2006
Dayn Perry is not a baseball expert. That's part of the problem here. Go slurp up Randy Johnson some more, Dayn.
